well, the old man has more or less conceded the race, without doing so formally. he'll stay in it til the end, but will work for party unity going forward.

was a good fight. he did a lot better than anyone imagined possible. and i think he personally increased the amount of influence he'll have politically going forward.

and I'm relieved he said waht he said about Trump, but only because this will shut up all the bitchy clinton supporters whining that he and his supporters are mean and bad because he won't concede and just hand his opponent the race... the same people who trumpet the 0.0001% of Sanders supporters who've said they'd rather vote for Trump than Hillary out of spite as an example of why all Sanders supporters are bad and naive and should never have challenged their heroine. and of course in '08 they were the ones insisting their candidate stick it out, and saying "never Obama" and crap like that.

Clinton is an awful candidate, who has supported and voted for terrible things, but still a much, much better candidate than Trump.

Did you see the shit he said about the judge in the Trump University case? what a racist asshole! and he claims he asked the judge to recuse himself, but of course his lawyers never filed a motion for that, because their asses would be nailed for filing a frivolous motion. oops. Trump (like his supporters) is too dumb to understand you can't lie about court proceedings... they're public record.

it appears he even may have gone too far with the GOP, since sen. Mark Kirk pulled his endorsement, and even stallwart Republitards like MitchMcCpnnell and Lindsay Graham said if Trump keeps it up, they won't support him. Graham even went as far as to suggest a DEMOCRAT would be worth voting for if Trunp keeps it up.

and if someone has to explain to you why believing a person's race makes them unqualified to be a judge is racist, well, that makes you, you know...

The fact that he got as much traction as he did shows how terrible of a candidate HRC is. Trump getting the nomination for the GOP might be the only thing that gets her in the White House, and even that isn't a given.

Hillary is a different brand of poison as toxic as Trump. And we are forced to choose it. EDIT: She is as corrupt and as unethical as Vladimir Putin. She will bury anyone and everyone to become president and will never be accountable for her incompetence.

Bernie Sanders, champion of the little guy, Mr. #fightfor15 is advertising openings for paid internships this fall - at $12/hour in DC, one of the most expensive cities in the country. Do as I say, not as I do? Or is he exempt from his own policies because he deserves it - sort of like how NOW turned a blind eye to Clinton sexually assaulting women in exchange for his pro abortion stance?

But he's not a hypocrite...

They're internships. If you know anything about internships, you know they're most often unpaid positions. The value is in the job experience you get.

Of the 16 major presidential candidates, only one actually paid his/her interns. I'll give you one guess who.

guessing Trump (if he could ever actually get elected to any office) would make his staffers pay for the privilege of interning with him.

I know plenty about internships - perhaps I can share a little knowledge on the subject. Not all internships are unpaid. And there is value in experience in literally every position, whether it's an internship or not so that is just a bull shit excuse to not pay people for their work. And it is also why the minimum wage is such a bad idea - it prices inexperienced people out of the workforce so they don't get the extremely valuable experience they need to get the next higher paying job.

Of the 16 major presidential candidates, only one is demanding everyone else pay a living wage for all jobs while paying people who do certain jobs for him less than that living wage. So that makes 15 non-hypocrites and 1 massive hypocrite. I'll give you one guess who that massive hypocrite is.

You keep going back to Trump like it's some ace in the hole - I have yet to hear a single poster at DSF claim to be a Trump supporter. But, since you have no valid defense for supporting a moronic assclown (other than the fact that you're a moronic assclown yourself) at least you have "Trump, der, derrrr, derrrrrr. I win the internets today because Trump." Do you really not see how f'n stupid that is.

That's why I said 'most often'. You're just repeating what I said but in different words. I'm glad we agree?

Several of the candidates support a minimum wage and paid their interns nothing. Sanders supports a livable minimum wage and wants to pay his interns $12/hr. How is Sanders a hypocrite and the others aren't?

Huh. I didn't realize criticism of Trump was off limits.

FWIW, I don't really see Cruz or Rubio being much better. Cruz might offer to pay interns with prayers, or "tax cuts." Rubio would... I don't know. What is he programmed to pay? The rich Floridians who bankrolled him probably wouldnt see paying interns as a good return on their investment.

maybe Kasich would pay his interns something. seems unlikely, but whatevs.

It's not off limits. It's just a dead end to any debate.

Trump sucks. Seems like everyone agrees. The end.

edit: "The end" if you're looking for debate. I'm all board the Trump-bashing train. Post stupid Trump stuff to your heart's content. I love it.

good, cause his antics are hilarious.

reading about how he shamelessly mismanaged his casinos, sucking outsized "consulting fees" and "licensing fees" out for letting them use his stupid name, while they hemorraged cash, sticking the locals and his bondholders with the losses, hawking his phony Trump University, Trump shirts and ties, Trump vodka, Trump perfume, etc., showing up at pro-wrestling events, reality TV... he's more George Costanza (a lot more) than he is John D. Rockefeller.

reading how he won the GOP nomination and is running his campaign down the drain the same way he bankrupted all his casinos... gut-busting hilarity.

I just saw the Curb your Enthusiasm where people are telling Larry David about what a bad person George was, not realizing how much he based the character on himself.

Trump isn't George though. He's Rich Biff from Back to the Future 2.

That's not the worst comparison actually. I could totally buy into the idea that Trump is wealthy simply because he time traveled.

We agree on a very small detail. What you're missing is the logic behind calling something an internship so you can avoid paying someone and claiming that the experience itself is pay enough is ridiculous. The experience is part of the value proposition for every job and it's factored into wages. It is precisely the argument behind being able to pay low skill workers lower wages.

Some of the candidates support a minimum wage, to my knowledge, only Bernie supports a living wage. The fact that he demands others pay $15/hour then calling his low skill workers "interns" is smoke and mirrors. It's hard to believe bernie people don't see it that way. They're either fools or they're making excuses for the old man. Whichever it is isn't important - he is still a hypocrite.

By the way, I have absolutely no problem with people working as unpaid or low paid interns. I think all employer/employee consensual relationships should settle at a mutually agreed upon wage. I'm just not foolish enough to think Sanders isn't a hypocrite for not paying all his employees a living wage.

It's not off limits but it's a pointless argument.

As for what Cruz and Rubio pay their interns, that is also irrelevant since neither of them is trying to compel private individuals to overpay for labor, I mean transact at a minimum price.

In my opinion, an intern needs a mentor and a person can't be a decent mentor to more than maybe 6 people at a time. There's no way to police it, but if there's going to be an internship loophole that can be used to dodge minimum wage laws, the internship needs to look like an internship.

It's not really enforceable, so it's kind of a dumb law/loophole.
