Trump campaign follies

I assume some of you have been following along.

the amusing anecdotes from his campaign are starting to pile up. the one about him being asked to call some number of donors (iirc it was 10), then just stopping after 3 and calling it a day is pretty funny.

now today he fired his longtime campaign manager (or whatever his title was) Corey Lewandowski, without telling anyone else, or apparently planning it prior to doing it.

the "Deadbeat Donald" stories about how badly he mismanaged his casinos, intentionally reneged on debts or underpaid contractors are amusing as well.

Donald is 100% the Trump University charlatan he was always alleged to be.

its also amusing he was able to win teh GOP nomination, with a completely disorganized, lazy, twitter campaign just by being more racist, sexist, and xenophobic than anyone else. that's it. that's all it took.

oh, but it's not fair to call the GOP the party of racists...

It's time to reform the primary system. Approx 30% of all eligible voters participated this year. That's not representative of the population at large. It sickened me that at the last congressional primary I was #75 and I went at 11:30 in the morning.

To be fair, I'm not sure that the Trump primary voter is representative of the typical GOP primary voter.

This could be evidenced by the fact that party leadership is running from Trump like a live hand grenade.

That said yes-if the whole thing weren't a little bit funny it would be really tragic.

It's not.

That would be like looking at Michigan just after the Shane Morris fiasco and characterizing it based on Dave Brandon's time there.

GOP is off the rails right now. The plane has crashed into the mountain. I don't know if it was Karl Rove that sent us down this path or who or a phenomenon primarily driven by the diversification of our media, allowing most of us to more easily segregate by ideology.

The left is far from guilt free in this. The 'safe spaces' effort is a push for even more ideological segregation. It breeds extremism.

But it wasn't always this way and I don't believe it can stay this way forever.

It may not be fair, but I think if you asked anyone outside of this country which party was more likely to be racist. You would get a clear answer

my guess is that most people outside of this country wouldn't know much about either party

Sure, but since neither party should be racist, that shouldn't be a particularly helpful question.

The Democratic Party is the party of George Zimmerman. That doesn't make it a good way to describe the Democratic Party.

I was going post a notion like this.

Plus my guess is they think all the races hate each other in the US regardless of politics and that shit.

I fancied that Euro-trash was more sophisticated than that. Especially the Frogs.

Or maybe the rest of the world is so accepting of racism and hatred and bigotry that they just laugh at us for bending over backward trying to show how accepting and tolerant we are here.

this is kinda true.

the US has had to come to grips with race relations due to its being a nation of immigrants and its legacy of slavery. we obviously still have a ways to go, but we're walking the path.

a lot of other nations - even supposedly more progressive ones - are a lot less tolerant of immigrants, particularly dark skinned ones.

well, okay, so the 40% of the GOP primary voters that pushed Trump to the nomination are openly racist. another 40% are quietly racist, and would prefer the knowing *wink wink* racism of Reagan, and the Bushes. then you have the remaining 20% of Jerry Ford Republicans who are moderate, racially tolerant, or enlightened even, and of course who have ZERO influence or power in the current GOP.

but yeah, it isn't fair to call the entire GOP racist, strictly speaking.

you make a great point...

I think your numbers are openly made up. And wrong.

Okay... yes, my margin of error is +/- 4%. Happy?

so the WaPo reports Trump won 37% of the votes cast in teh GOP primaries. Cruz/Rubio had about 40%. Kasich had around 20%.

What do those numbers have to do with what percentage of people are racist?

The answer is nothing.

Some percentage of Trump voters are racist, some Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich voters too. Heck, even some Clinton and Sanders voters are racist. But you raise a good point; putting a margin of error on the numbers you make up does make me happy.

Democrats are not racist. Not a one. And no Democrat has ever been racist. Bill and Hillary racists? Not a chance.

Clearly. Hillary wasn't racist when she wanted to bring super predators to heel, it's everyone else that's racist when they assume she was talking about a specific race.

that makes sense - ask a bunch of people who don't live here that get their news about the US from a leftist cabal bent on painting anyone who disagrees with them as racist. Let's ask those folks what they think. Great idea.

one arrow in the quiver.

How about Bill, who once said of Barack Obama to Ted Kennedy "A few years ago he would be carrying our bags." Is that racist? Seems like it's pretty racist.
