Lions win back to back titles and almost pulled of a three peat as they lost championship in 1954 to Cleveland 56-10 in Cleveland.

This youtube clips are with no sound sadly and shows the lions winning a tight championship game 17-16. Lions title drive started with 4:10 left in the game and went 8 plays 80 yards. Layne was cultch..
Teams got in a scap with each other at the end of this one.

In 1952 lions were 3.5 favorites and won 17-7. @ Cleveland
In 1953 Browns were were 3 point favorites and lions win 17-16. @ Detroit
In 1954 lions were 2.5 to 3 point favorites, browns win 56-10. @ Cleveland.
In 1957 browns were favored by 3 points in a 59-14 crushing by the lions. @ Detroit.

My favorite all-time Lion's player, the all world Safety and the original 'Hang Time Punter' Yale Lary on those 3 Lions' Championship teams.
#28 should have been retired years ago!!

The great Jimmy Brown said years ago the two best open field tacklers he ever ran against were the great Dick 'Night Train' Lane and Robert Yale Lary.

Thanks Bob!!
