Kevin Smith - RB - Lions

The Lions will re-sign free agent RB Kevin Smith, a source tells ProFootballTalk.
It's not a good sign for Jahvid Best (concussion). Smith dealt with multiple significant knee and shoulder injuries during his three seasons with the Lions, but at least knows the system. The unimpressive runner, even when healthy, will slot in behind Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams to start. He'll essentially fill the role vacated by Jerome Harrison (brain tumor).

The NFLockout and the loss of Leshoure as an indirect result likely has/will cost the Lions a win already and perhaps a win or two in their remaining schedule, and could also affect how deeply that they might go in the playoffs, should they clinch. Mikel's status/availability may and likely will still be unknown as far as for next season, if not for his career (should he even have one) by the time that the '12 draft rolls around, and also probably may have some type of effect upon the Lions in any off-season trades.

Talk about a fucking domino effect, perhaps if Leshoure had not become injured, then Best may not have suffered one if not both concussions this year...gawddamn it.

Lockout? Didn't everyone have to go through that? And LeShoure might have sucked. Plus there are many more players, better players than LeShoure that got hurt this season.

Charles, 6.1 YPC for his career. Much bigger loss than LeShoure.

the slappys have a 1 mile radius view past Ford Field....no other team gets crushed by injuries like the Lions and no other team plays well but the Lions...

1 mile radius?

How about a 45 year long experience and insight, instead?

What does other teams loss of players have to do with my post anyway, as it involved the possibility that Best might not have suffered one or both concussions, regardless of how well or poorly Leshoure may have performed, which would very probably have been somewhere between gawdawful and probowl-worthy?

I think it was to point out how anyone could say the Lions got screwed and should have more wins when way more important players got hurt this season.
