Tigers 2017-2018 Off Season Thread

How many middle infielders does a team need?
This reminds me of an old joke about changing a light bulb,5 one that stands on the chair and 4 to pick it up and turn it around till it's right. Some how this looks like the way, how Al going to roll.

My first question would be - "Okay so who else we got?"

Traded for or acquired the following middle infielders within the last year (trade deadline deals and after):

Isaac Paredes 18

Jose King 18

Sergio Alcantara 21

Dawel Lugo 23

Ronny Rodriguez 25

Pete Kozma 29

WTF are they doing trading for a 29 year old that can't play?

Tigers, James McCann agree on 1-year contract.
McCann will make $2.3 million in 2018, his first season of arbitration.

McCann, 27, had his best offensive season last year, hitting .253 with a .415 slugging percentage and a .733 OPS. In the second half of the season, he hit .291, getting on base at a .345 clip with a .414 slugging percentage.
He produced a career-high in homers (13) and RBIs (49), with a 1.4 WAR according to Baseball Reference.
For his career, he's a .247 hitter with a .681 OPS.
He finished sixth in the American League throwing out 18 base stealers. His 29.6 percent caught stealing percentage ranked eighth.

Four other players remain unsigned: shortstop Jose Iglesias, third baseman Nicholas Castellanos; and relievers Alex Wilson and Shane Greene.

Players and teams formally exchange salary figures this week. If they can't agree on a compromise, an arbitrator will hear both arguments and resolve the case.

Friday is the deadline for both teams and players to submit salary numbers. According to estimates done annually by MLBTradeRumors.com, Iglesias could get awarded as much as $5.6 million, Castellanos $7.6 million, Greene $1.7 million and Wilson $2.1 million.

No Tigers player has gone before an arbitrator since 2001.
