I didn't meet him a cell in New Orleans when I was down and out...but way back in time I did meet him at a bar in Studio City, where I continued to run into him frequently over the course of a few years...

He and I liked talkin,' we drank at the bar together, and he wasn't shy to sing his hits, which is pretty cool, and he sometimes bitched that he and the Main Ingredient never became Smoky Robinson and The Miracles...which I fully agree with; they were just as good, and he was just as good as Smoky...in my opinion...

He was very proud of his sons - all of them; not just the Oscar winner.

He used to tell my first wife she looked just like the Oscar winner's wife...

My first wife remembers that either she or I replied "well, all of us white people look the same to you..."

Always kinda hoped I'd run into him again.

RIP my old long ago drinkin' bud.

I remember this group from the early 70's and they were very good.
Had some 45's with their hit songs.
They just never seemed to reach the elite status like Smokey and the Miracles, the Four Tops, Temptations, Spinners,
It was some time later I found out Cuba Gooding Jr.s dad was one of the singers.
Sorry you lost your old friend Tinsel, may he rip.
