He has a 2.25 ERA in his last five starts. Excluding one bad start against the Cleveland Indians, Verlander has a 3.25 ERA in 10 starts since June 1.
Verlander will be making his 10th start at Camden Yards, where he's 7-1 with a 2.63 ERA in his career.

Orioles starter Kevin Gausman and Tigers center fielder Mikie Mahtook were teammates at LSU.
Mahtook is 0-for-3 in his career against Gausman.

Tigers had no idea it was the third out after Verlander Ks another batter. That's how prepared and focused Brad has this team.

Heard that on the XM/radio from the orioles announcers.
As Tigers fans we're fucked as long as the shithook GM, asst. GM, and manager are running the show

The whole scene was bizarre. The next Oriole batter was getting ready to get into the batter's box. Tigers were throwing the ball around the horn completely clueless to the number of outs.

Perhaps it was a tribute to Jim Joyce and the 28 out game he made them play a few years back.

JV not getting much run support this year

He is pitching another good game, but as the ace of this staff he is going up against some top pitchers who more often than not handle the Tigers, hence like other games he is behind a run or two depending if the Tigers score.
What's he got into the bottom 7th, 9 K's.

Tough call. Batter getting out of the way or a swing ?

We will take it.

This has been a strange game. Most bizarre strikeout I've ever seen.

You would think, but it hit his hand first.

Did it? Couldn't really tell and if it did then wouldn't it be a hit batter, really trying to understand how that was a k
