and they want to put this guy with a look of indifference and disdain the past 4 months in the outfield, he will get turned and twisted around going after fly balls and line drives sailing over his head, right field will be a triples and inside the park homerun haven for opposing teams. #ClownShoesCastellanos

The best postion for him would be DH after victor retires then maybe he can focus on his GD pitch recognition!

and that is the crux of the problem with who this team drafts, and trades for, the players have little clue of the strike zone, and are not good fielders. It is a sad state of affairs that hois best position might be DH at his young age,
Same with that 23 year old in AA or AAA Christin Stewart corner outfielder with possibly a Delmon Young pedigree playing the outfield, another DH in the making.

The Tigers finished their nine-game road trip with a 4-5 record. The three-city tour included a four-game winning streak and now a four-game losing streak.

Tigers starter Matthew Boyd struggled for his second consecutive start.
The Tigers bullpen pitched four scoreless innings of relief.

NOTABLE
The Tigers were scoreless through the first five innings Tuesday after being shutout on Monday night. Jim Adduci doubled in the sixth inning to drive in the Tigers' first run of the series. It was also the Tigers' first extra-base hit since arriving in Pittsburgh.

Pirates starting pitcher Chad Kuhl was hitting just .031 (1-for-32) when he muscled a bases-loaded, two-run single over the head of shortstop Andrew Romine in the fourth inning. The hit gave Kuhl the first runs batted in of his career and put the Pirates up 4-0.

Tigers starter Matthew Boyd retired the first six batters he faced, gave up a bloop RBI single in the third and then ran into serious trouble in the fourth and fifth innings.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus went to reliever Eddie Mujica after Boyd allowed the first three batters of the fifth to reach on singles.

Mujica struck out two but an unearned scored thanks to an error by Nicholas Castellanos at third base.

Mikie Mahtook had hits in each of his first two at-bats and finished 2-for-3.

Miguel Cabrera finished 0-for-3 with a RBI and batted .154 (4-for-26) for the road trip.

Employee of the Month
Mikie Mahtook: A two hit day for the bright spot in the Tigers lineup.
He?s hitting .316 with a .913 OPS in the last month.

Most Likely To Succeed
Jeimer Candelario: The Tigers? recent acquisition got a hit in his first at-bat as a Tiger and scored the first run of the night for the Tigers.

Start Cleaning Out Your Desk
Matt Boyd: What started as a very very encouraging game, quickly went south as Boyd didn?t record an out in the fifth inning before being lifted. His final line ? 9 hits, 6 runs (5 earned), 1 walk, 5 strikeouts.
