Pistons 105 Bucks 96 Final

Thoughts through almost three quarters:

Stanley Johnson, while a different body type, has started to really excel in his role as defending the other team's superstar forward. "The Greek Freak" has looked average so far and a lot of it is Stanley.

Drummond just doing Drummond things. Hasn't missed a shot or free throw. Gobbling up all the rebounds. There are a few of you that still owe him an apology for your lack of faith.

Avery Bradley is the real deal. That trade keeps looking better and better. Not just a defensive specialist, very much a two way player.

With over 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Drummond has set a career high with 14 free throws made. His previous high was 13 on 36 attempts @ Houston. He's only attempted 16 tonight.

Very nice !!!

Also want to point something out that wasn't on the stat sheet. Drummond "only" got 3 offensive rebounds tonight but it was mainly because the Bucks were triple boxing him out most of the game. This really inhibited their transition offense. Just another way Andre affects the game without being a flashy scorer.

Man they could be really good if AD hits his Free Throws .

HUGE difference and hopefully Andre sees why people got on him so much about it. If he shoots like his old self the Pistons probably lose this game. Instead they won it.

And hopefully the people can see that their 'trade Drummond' bullshit was premature and short sighted. I doubt it though. There were already comments about how he can't post up well. If you're not Hakeem Olajuwon, you suck.

I'm happy to say I was wrong. I don't think my previous position was irrational, though. Through his first five years he was a train wreck at the line, and it legitimately affected his development in other areas. Players that bad from the line for that long do not have much track record of getting significantly better (and it needed to be significant in order to really matter). If he hadn't completely reworked his approach as he has, he was very much a dying commodity.

But he has fixed things, as much as anyone could have hoped. There's no real denying that he's better. And now we can finally find out what he's really capable of.

Same here. I thought he needed to be moved because the FT problem was unfix-able.

If he can even maintain a 60 percent clip, it completely changes this team.

He's definitely put in a lot of work. Which is refreshing because my one knock on him, even as an Andre slappy, was that he seemed too worried about things off the court. It's pretty clear now that he's willing to put the work in. I'm excited about his future, still only 24 years old.
