Corporations may get permanent Tax cuts

Like I said, Bob, I get the hate. It goes both ways and you are included in the wide swath I referred to. But as I also said, and what I don't get, is the blind spot. When are you going to admit the policies are working and good for the American people? What would it take for that to happen?

define "working."

our life expectancy is declining. infant mortality increasing, and maternal death in childbirth are both shockingly high when you compare them to other industrialized nations.

there's an opioid epidemic ravaging the nation that our government is both unable and unwilling to stop.

pollution is increasing as environmental protections - never great to begin with and under attack from business from day 1 - are being rolled back.

things are getting worse.

if the performance of a couple stock market indices is your measure of "improvement" why were you bitching about Obama for 8 years, dumbfuck?

The 0bama social justice agenda would have continued had Hillary been crowned. In that case, Dow would be at 15,000 and she would be bedridden with some undisclosed auto-immune disorder. Sad thing is that so many here and elsewhere would seemingly prefer that.

I get that wide swaths of the population despise Trump. What I don't get is the blind spot they have when it comes to the fact that his policies are working on behalf of the American people. Will the detractors ever get it? I doubt it. They are too invested in the hate to admit they are wrong.

I agree, I don't get this either. But I will say it's not simply "detractors". That's too broad of a term - by most standards, I'm a detractor. I don't like Trump, didn't like him before the election and I didn't vote for him. Still, I like some of what he's done so far and at the same time I don't like a lot of the things he's said and done. But since I don't get my panties in a wad over BS nonsense like calling shithole countries shithole countries in a private meeting (just like I didn't care when Obama said it), then suddenly I love Trump and everything he's done.

It's amazing to me that you could, without much effort go and find a thread where the same 3 people are bitching about evil corporations hoarding cash overseas and/or how tax reform is all about the 1% (which I'm not part of, by the way) then show them evidence of how a GOP policy pushed and ultimately signed into law by Trump is actually spurring investment, wage increases, wealth distribution (through bonuses), job growth and the repatriation of that cash hoarded overseas. In less than 2 months, it's having a clear and demonstrable positive impact on the economy for EVERYONE and all you hear is denial, vitriol and slander. It's clear they have no interest in giving any Republican policy a chance.

"pathetic crumbs," according to Mrs. Pelosi. How any adult can take her seriously is beyond me.

the best part about that comment is when Obama pushed a tax policy to reduce taxes on the same people by $40/week (~$2k/year - virtually the exact same amount of the bonuses she's saying are crumbs) Pelosi couldn't say enough about how wonderful it was. She's the biggunsbob of congress.

Same hate the Gop lapped upon Obama including Trump . Same Gop with Fix news that blasted their hate so all the rural masses would hear .Well it worked getting Trump elected ..Right wing Hate won the day over.

again, this has been debunked. facts are not your friend here (are they ever?)

You're giving alll of the credit to Republicans for Apple's adding 20K jobs?

That was a result of increased consumer demand over the past several years, and isn't indicative of what other unrelated large companies will or won't do in the event that increased demand for their products and/or services does or doesn't occur.

A bit too premature to assume that billions profits stashed overseas will be moved to the US. Much less what they will or won't be used for.

No, I'm not. I'm saying Apple is giving a lot of the credit to the GOP tax plan. Apple CEO Tim Cook's words, not mine. Are you saying he's lying? Is Tim Cooke a closet Trump sycophant?

But you're right, it's not too premature to say what they'll be used for because Apple has already told us. The $350B of which $252B comes from repatriating foreign cash will be invested in the US over the next 5 years. The money is earmarked for building a second campus (all kinds of manufacturing, construction and service workers benefit from that), hiring 20k new employees and paying a $38B repatriation tax to the treasury. You don't have to insuate that it will all accrue to billionaires, we know where the money is going.

infant mortality decreasing

these charts only go up to 2016. I guess you could give the prior administration credit for the steady continual improvement in life expectancy and infant mortality rates but then you would have to give harsh criticism for the significant increase in opioid death rate.

Whatever the stats are, and I have no idea, they are the result of decade upon decade upon decade of politicians running the country. Despise him or not, let's give Trump a couple of terms and see what the hell happens. It's long past time that Washington gets turned upside down and he is the perfect guy to do it.

I will be shocked if he gets another term

same here and I prefer he didn't but at this point I fear the alternative more (Sanders, Warren, Winfrey even Biden) unless he is successfully primaried by someone I dislike less than the Democrat. But, if GDP growth is over 4% and unemployment is mid to low 3% range for 3 years running he could be tough to unseat.

the decline in life expectancy has been widely reported: Fox News, CNN

I guess infant mortality isn't getting worse, but it's awful. see for yourself. it's worse than Cuba, Poland, Slovenia, French Polynesia, etc.

and then there's this. fucking twisted...

I shouldn't need to say it, but I still will: Trump does not bear the blame for this; but he's certainly not doing anything to improve it, and to the contrary cutting funding for healthcare will only result in these getting worse.

these facts strongly undermine the BS spin about "things getting better."

If those are the numbers who the hell would want to unseat him? Other than the Socialists, Communists, Anarchists and Occupiers, that is.

If those are the numbers he'll get 15-20% of the Black vote. The D's are in deep, deep stuff if they don't have that constituency to take for granted any more.

things weren't looking so good for the last idiot either but he won a second term - mostly thanks to the media complicity in not covering his scandals, which trump obviously can't count on but still, he managed to win.

Yeah that left leaning(sarcasm ) Fox News network was completely in Obama's corner lol , and you know those 3000+ conservative radio shows that blasted non stop about things like Obama's place of birth.... It's a complete right wing myth that the Media leans left, and Fixed News is at the top of the pyramid. Fox News should changes its name to The Gop channel. The brainwashed Gop. Fox news is a disgrace to News organization was directly one of the reason your new Shithole leader is in office.

Fox News = MSNBC is how I viewed it regarding how far off what I think center is. Pretty much right where that chart put them.

The thing that surprises me is how far left the New York Times is. I wouldn't have put them any further left than MSNBC.

I think just about everything left of center is further right than it should be, particularly NBC, it's child networks and CNN. Either way, it's clear there is a left leaning bias in the media.

The idea that Drudge is further right than buzzfeed, huffpo, politico, etc are to the left - that's nonsense.
