I like Vaughn but because he's a college guy already, 21, he'll be blocked forever at 1B. Unless they perma move the big guy to DH. Def. need some hitting. Though it looks like it could be a position heavy draft early so the 4 teams ahead of us could all take players we might need.

My guess on who I think we get Green or Abrams. Though knowing this team, btw the consensus is that there could be as much as 23 everyday players taken in round 1, I wouldn't be shocked if we took a pitcher.

I certainly hope we take a hitter. I was thinking the most difficult decision would be if it came down to who to choose between Abrams and Greene

Both HS with almost opposite looks. The SS is fast and a good defender - slap hitter, while Green is a slower not so good fielder but has power.

I'm hoping for one of the college hitters.

At first I was thinking high school star Riley Greene, but the college OF JJ Bleday is a better choice. Vaughn is only a 1B, at some point they need a shortstop who can hit besides field.

I would take Vaughn if he falls to us because I finally am of the mind that Miggy should only DH very soon. I like Bleday over Greene because we won?t have to wait as long for Bleday. But I like Abrams over Bleday because of what you just said about our shortstop situation

I don't want a player who is not good in the field so that means I hope we pass on Green if he's there.

Not sure Abrams will hit enough but defense and speed at short be kind of hard to pass that up. He could hit a buck fifty and be better than any SS we currently have.

Which is exactly why I think they take Greene. HS kids are a huge risk already, especially if his defense and speed are already average at best. I'm just hoping someone else takes him so Detroit can't.
