    So Long, Joey

Celebrity endorsements for president go back as far as I can recall. JFK had "a slew" of celebrity endorsements. Apparently, Harding was the first candidate to gain a celebrity endorsement. Sinatra promoted both FDR and JFK. It's just another form of mind control that must have some effect...

Aaron's 715 swing looked no different to me than did 714, or any of other HRs I saw him hit, including the HR in the 1971 ASG.

Biden's Farewell / Campaign speech from the set that resembles the Oval Office was really off. He said "sacred" twice in the first minute, borrowed a phrase from Obama's 2008 Convention speech "it's not about me; it's about you." He wore the blue "soothing" tie rather than the red "alarm"...

We are going to disagree on this, too. I don't consider guys like Aaron, Mays, Robinson, Killebrew, Jackson, Schmidt, Mantle, Foxx, McCovey, Williams, Banks, Mathews, Ott, or Murray as guys who "swung for the fences." I'll throw Gehrig in there, too, since he'd have hit 500+ home runs had he not...

A factor, for sure, considering that most professional athletes 60 years ago had winter gigs to make extra money.

I don't agree. I watch the highlights of most games every day on the MLB app and I see a disproportional amount of mental errors, base running mistakes, weak throws from the outfield (why can't MLB outfielders fly the ball to home any more?) passed balls (the OKD controversy rages) and more.

You guys who are say 45 or older: Is MLB better now or "then?" I say then.

Chicago Bob? Or Vermont Bob? Or Even Professor Proton?

This is a Linkedin post from a friend and colleague: Thanks, Bob. Thank you for your incredible, creative, side-splitting humor. Thank you for being kind, a pro and allowing me to work with you. Growing up, my closest friends in Dallas and I were really into comedy. Jonathan Winters, the...

    So Long, Joey

Now is the time to recognize once and for all that government is not reason and that no one has the authority to rightfully rule over anyone. We are told we are electing our servants, when we are appointing our masters. The very concept of government is oppressive; it's what it does, and ours...
