Not true. Hamilton swings at 42.9% of pitches out of the strike zone. Boesch does it 39.2% of the time.- Cecil

Why is swinging at the first pitch bad? Sometimes the best pitch you'll see is the first pitch. Josh Hamilton swings at the first pitch more than anyone. Seems to work well for him.- Cecil

He said Inge had good stretches which is true. Inge hit .268/.360/.515/ .876 in the first half on 2009 with 21 HR in 85 games.- Cecil

Which MLB team do you dislike the most
It's hard for me to develop a hatred for Chicago teams. They just don't win often. The Cubs have gone over a hundred years without winning a World Series. The White Sox average one every 85 or so years. The Blackhawks had a 40+ year championship drought. The Bulls had their run in the 90's...- Cecil

Delmon Young
Yes Delmon swung at a bad pitch and managed to hit it out. It doesn't make him good. What gets forgotten is that Delmon Young is a -0.1 WAR and is barely replacement level. Perhaps with someone who is slightly above replacement, the Tigers wouldn't have entered this series 3 games behind...- Cecil

This win is huge because it assures the Tigers win the season series against Chicago. If they end up tied and the loser gets the wild card, the Tigers win the division and Chicago is the wild card. If the loser doesn't get the wild card, the Tigers will host the one game playoff. At least...- Cecil
