They issed one...

DET played the most games against sub .500 teams than any other team in MLB (by about 20 games).

They should add that and remove trading for Delmon Young.

Good point, but still....Most of these moves were made since the end of last season. So Detroit and Dombrowski deserve alot of credit for upgrading the team in a short amount of time.

Tigers had a lot to do with helping some of those teams become and/or remain under .500 btw, esp. within their own division, IMO.

#1-4 is why I thought the Tigers might win 94 games.

You cant hate on the tigers because their division is bad.

I'm not. They did what they had to do to win. Good teams do that.

Fair point but detroit is 20-16 againt the rays, angels, rangers, yankees, and red sox combined.

Not too shabby imo....only the sox have had the tigers number.

so at the very least against the cream of the AL they've been respectable.

Yup. But I wasnt talking to you really, more of a general statement. If i was i would have quoted you.

This is rediculous!!!! Using the other teams being bad as an excuse for Tiger wins discounts the World Champs of 84'.
If you were a fan in the 80's you know those great Sparky teams won because they made a habit of destroying the second tier teams and playing the elite teams at least even. LOOK IT UP! SCHWEEEEEEPS have consequences....you go 35-5 or, as in this year, you finish up your division win early. I am guilty of using the weak Central as an excuse for Tiger sucess....but Detroit has proved me wrong.

You wouldn't allow that one reason, just 1, outta 10, is the weak division? Not saying "The" reason or "Only" reason. But don't want to argue esp w/KB. Now let's Play Ball!!!

1. VMart
2. Avila
3. JP
4. JV
5. Young
6. Fister
7. Betemit
8. Boesch
9. Benoit

Ok Batcave I'll let it be one of ten sheeesh, but some of us were counting it in April as a potential 5 of 10 reasons and there were only four other teams...lol!
