No Velano, no Zadina, no Seider? Even Givani Smith. Big disappointment. I've been waiting a long time for this game and now it's not even worth watching it. I don't want to see Ford & Terry. I know they can't play every game but still..

8 games in 10 days.

First few games mostly AHL caliber before they get cut.

I'll be going to the Friday game vs the Islanders, hopefully a better lineup. But in general, its about 60-70% AHLers.

To me that's just a wasted game. I don't see the point of older players who don't have a shot. If NJ can play Jack Hughes last night we should be playing our top guys. Get the fan base excited early. Instead we have a 34 year old Matt Ford.

Management and coaches love Matt Ford for his work ethic and he'll be one of the few to be blocking shots this meaningless game.

I enjoyed watching him last preseason, he did a great job of setting the pace and adding some intensity.

I get it. There's a reason he's still playing. But why use a spot on someone who will never play in the pro's. When you have so many players to look at this season. How are you suppose to fill out the top 23 when you're playing guys like Matt Ford. 9 games might seem like a lot but it's not. I know I'm in the minority here but Matt Ford could be the best player in preseason and he'll be sent back to GR.

Also vets don't want to play in preseason.

Puempel got the 1 goal lead.

Bad PP for Hawks.

Hahaha, thoose GR vets are showing the kids how its done.
