2025 Tigers Spring Training

If you have guys that mash at those "defensive" positions, you still want to have a big bat at 1B. You don't want a slap hitter that can't play defense at 1B.
What's the difference two slap hitters, 2 power hitters either way. Wade Boggs at 3B, no one seemed to mind. Arraez has had his share at 1B in his career so far. Nathaniel Lowe not your typical 1B, 18 HR or less except for one year. Lots of guys who play 1B that aren't "sluggers/mashers/power hitters."

And generally you want your 1B to be good defensively.

She was talking about Bregman. The Tigers tried to get Bregman and were in on him until he decided he didn't want to play here.

Vierling has some right should difficulty. Being evaluated. Javy will get his first game activity on Friday.

Matt Vierling has suffered a right shoulder injury, manager A.J. Hinch said. Javier Báez is scheduled to make his spring training debut Friday against the Blue Jays after rehabbing from right hip surgery.
