Friday nights game against Navy marks Izzos 20th season at MSU as a head coach. The guy is incredible.

What are your guys' expectations on the season? Forbes has a broken non shooting hand (I think) and Bess is out which leaves us with one shooting guard Alvin Ellis. Izzo says he plays too nonchalantly and I agree, he's seems emotionless when playing.
Night in and night out we will have 2 mismatches and that's Valentine and Dawson. Valentine is a better version of Green in my opinion, he had a triple double in one of the exhibitions. Dawson is an absolute beast, he has been hitting some mid range shots in the exhibition games. If he can consistently knock those down and people have to respect that then he becomes unstoppable.
Right after navy on Friday we play Duke on Monday, I think they're the number 3 team in the country.

If we could get to the Sweet 16 this year I would call it very successful. If Dawson left I would have said just make the tourney and I will be satisfied, thank god he chose to return. Izzo believes he can be a 17-10 player this year, he also said his shooting has improved, let's hope so because outside of the paint he is usually ineffective to say the least. My big fear going into the year is obviously the post positions. Costello was flat out awful offensively last year outside of 2 feet, and as much as I couldn't stand Gauna we could have really used him this year due to our lack of experience down low.
