The San Francisco 49ers and receiver Randy Moss have agreed to terms on a one-year deal, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Moss worked out for the 49ers on Monday, with coach Jim Harbaugh throwing him passes.

Harbaugh stood in because a current 49ers quarterback can't throw in a workout for the team until the league year begins Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

"Jim Harbaugh makes #49ers veteran emergency board: Best coach's workout in NFL history (especially while wearing khakis & a sweatshirt)," 49ers CEO Jed York tweeted Monday.

Moss announced on his 35th birthday that he was ending his one-year retirement from the NFL.

Moss, who worked out last Tuesday with the New Orleans Saints, played for New England, Minnesota and Tennessee in a rocky 2010 season. He could help fill a big void after 49ers receivers managed just one catch for three yards in a 20-17 overtime loss in the NFC Championship Game to the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants.

Moss' workout with the Saints was said to be impressive, according to reports. The Saints didn't publicize details of the session.

San Francisco cut ties with Braylon Edwards in December and already was without Joshua Morgan, who broke a bone in his lower leg Oct. 9 against Tampa Bay, had surgery to have screws inserted and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. Morgan is expected to generate his share of interest in free agency.

Moss heard he was going to be catching passes from a former Colts Pro Bowl QB, and thought the 49ers signed Peyton. He was quick to sign a one year deal and then scream "JIM WHO?! WTF?!"

true....if he can be a good soldier and watch Gore and Co run the ball 30+ times a game it might work....Moss just seems to be a Keyshawn type guy..."Gimme the damn ball"....

Crazy every report you read is about him stretching the field for the 49ers. Id be amazed if at 35 he can still do that effectively enough to roll coverages n such. But i hear ya slick....if he goes in there thinking hes gonna catch 90 passes from Alex Smith....shit could get weird. Moss is known for not giving his all when hes not in the mix.....for a team that doesnt get the ball to the WRs it could be a recipe for disaster.

Hughes, I don't know anything about basketball man. Nothing. The last time I watched a game, Isaiah was a player and tongue-wrestling Magic Johnson bro.

Football, Baseball, Hockey... sports I get. Basketball? Um... that's the one with the hoop right, and jockeys?

Thanks for bringing up the image of Isaiah and Magic tongue lashing each other. I thought I could go by entire life without thinking about that..

:)
