Huge commitment and takes the sting away from losing Mathis.

He’s already got offers from all the usual poachers so let’s hope this one sticks

He’s visited all of them and just got it back from an official to USC, said he was sure when he got back that MSU was his school. His grandma wanted him close by and built a great relationship with Dantonio.

Mathis just committed to his 3rd program before his senior year even started. Mathis was never as solid as Barnett and now Dobbs are.

Dobbs is 6-4, 304 lbs and has feet like a ballerina. MSU likes him at tackle as he’s got the reach despite being an inch or 2 shorter than ideal for the position. MSU hasn’t gotten a 5 star OL since Roland Martin. Along with Charles Rogers, Jeff Smoker, and TJ Duckett, Dobbs is the highest ranked kid we’ve landed.

Wait....Charles Rogers WAS high when he was ranked, or he was highly ranked? Either way....that guy was always high!!!

you forgot about Malik McDowell and William Gholston. Both were rated as high or slightly higher as well...

Neither were. Gholston was like 35th, McDowell was 29th. Dobbs is 13th overall. Rogers, Jeff Smoker, and Tyrell Dortch were all top 20 players who came in with the same class.

Not according to Rivals.com...

Malik McDowell was rated higher than Dobbs - overall (#26 vs. #31), position (#2 vs 3) and state of Michigan (#1 vs 2)

William Gholston received higher marks in 2 of the 3 (tied at position) - overall (#21 v.s 31), position (#3 vs. #3) and state of Michigan (#1 vs. 2).

Rivals also has Dobbs rated as a 4 star while McDowell and Gholston were both 5s and in his overall rating he recently slipped to spots from #29 to 31.
