It’s no secret that the impact Jahmyr Gibbs has had on the Lions offense throughout the season has been massive. Along with that, he has accomplished many rare feats and a deeper look into his stats is warranted.

So far throughout the season, Jahmyr Gibbs has produced 70 or more scrimmage yards in nine games this season, which is the most for a Lions running back since Barry Sanders in 1997.

He has also produced 70 or more scrimmage yards for the 15th straight game, tying the franchise record again set by Barry Sanders. Along with that, it’s the first time that has happened in the first 15 games of the season.

Gibbs is also only the third running back in Detroit’s franchise history to top 1,500 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns in a season. He joins good company with Barry Sanders during the 1990-91 season, and Billy Sims during the 1980-81 season.

Finally, with last week’s game, Gibbs has played a total of 30 NFL games in his career and is only the ninth player in NFL history to record 2,000 rushing yards, 750 receiving yards, and 25 scrimmage touchdowns through those games.

It is clear that Gibbs is a large part of the Lions offense, but if he can keep those numbers up, he just might be an all-time great.
