Auston Robertson signs with MSU

Got his court stuff taken care of and is now a Spartan. Top 100 DE and a freak athlete, raw, but he's really got the athletic ability of someone like Ziggy Ansah.

Gives us the #18 composite class. And no team ranked ahead of us has a smaller class.

#18 on Scout too, and we were already #18 on Rivals, they haven't updated our class to include Robertson yet, but it should bump us 2-3 spots.

3.53 average star ranking would place us 12th.

Very good football player, I'll trust MD when it comes to evaluating his character and the incident that got him in trouble.

From what little details that are available, he doesn't seem to be a violent kid so hopefully the issues are behind him and he doesn't turn out to be another Glenn Winston or worse.

The Dline class is pretty ridiculous. King and Robertson are perfect complements to each other and both huge athletes. Jones on the inside is a load, he's going to way outperform his 4 star ranking, he's a more athletic version of Craig Evans. I think King compares favorably to Will Gholston, just a huge athlete who uses his hands and speed well. Panasiuk is the strongest freshman we've probably ever brought in, but it was his show of flexibility and quickness at "The Opening" that saw him rise so much in the rankings.

Robertson is a freak, but he played against terrible HS competition. He's raw and needs coaching, but he runs like a gazelle and has incredible get off. He has the highest upside of any player we've signed, if he had played for one of the bigger high school programs and had gotten better coaching he might have been considered one of the top few players at any position in the whole country.

We won 2 of the last 3 Big Ten titles starting mostly 3 star guys, this class has 12 4 star recruits. Our competition in the East is recruiting the same as they always have, MSU is the only one that has seen a significant change to their recruiting rankings, although it looks like Ohio State has an absolute monster 2017 class starting.
