Who is out there? I saw someone mention Coutland Finnegan and Brandon Carr as options...anyone else out there that we can realistically get?

grimes atl
jennings chi

those are the top 6 teams will be looking at.

I'd say Courtland Finnegan is obviously the one to mention considering his history with Schwartz and he plays CB the one we want it played. Outside of him I like Carr and I really like Terrelle Thomas for our system. He will as solid as they come for the Giants and only getting better, but an injury cost him this season. He tore his ACL, but with modern day medicine and a whole year to recover he should be able to come back in full health before training camp and would come cheap. Healthy, he is as tough as they come at CB and very solid in run support. He would be the value pick-up in FA at CB.

Then I think you can look at Asante in a trade as long as he restructures and they aren't unreasonable in their asking price (I'd offer them Corey Williams). Rumors had it that a deal for Asante fell through last minute in August so we obviously had interest and Asante is fantastic in coverage and is a ballhawk he just can't tackle for shit.

I also think theres a couple safeties we can target in Landry and Michael Griffin.

Personally for me this off-season I wanna target 1 CB, 1 safety, 1 DE, a G/C, and LT. Those are our most glaring needs. I think LB'er is pretty much set (although wouldn't be surprised to see them show interest in Curry if hes cheap). I think if the price is right definitely re-sign Avril, but KVB is declining fast and we need a premier DE. Doubt we get one this year though. CB and S are obvious (although I still think with a full off-season Spievey will improve, but he needs strong competition regardless).

Then we need some upgrades and youth on the O-Line. A Big center who can play guard his rookie year and replace Raiola down the line is perfect. I think Raiola is gonna stay one more year IMO, regardless of what we want. I think with Backus showing some wear and tear (two injuries) and with an expiring contract and his age he is finally replaced. Its possible we re-sign him for 2 years or so and he might start some this year, but I think they look for his eventually replacement.

Right now I like where we are headed and with some key moves this team can be a force, just sucks we play in a division with Aaron Rodgers if we manage to do anything next year it will likely have to be done on the road.

personally i think asante is not an upgrade over houston. he's barely better than EW, imo.

Pro Football Focus has Asante right at the border of top 10 corner. Houston isn't top 25.

Besides, having both is better than just 1. Asante is a major upgrade over Wright.

Mayhew won't sign someone to a huge deal, he'll be looking for value. I would think Finnegan can be had cheaper than guys like Webb and Grimes (Atlanta will franchise him IMO). He's got attitude issues, which will make teams wary, but Schwartz has familiarity. Does anyone know much about their system in Tennessee? Tulloch was a guy who only really fit in a few defenses IIRC. Is it the same at corner? I would think not.

not many teams play 0 deep with island coverage and give the qbs 10 seconds to throw the ball like the lions....so im guessing not.

That's absolutely ridiculous. Do you actually believe that?
