Cliff Avril? RT: @JimIrsay: We will have some big announcements very soon!!!!!!!! We are THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!?

Hearing Indy signed OT Gosder Cherilus

I dont think Cliff is gonna get the money he thought Kruger signed with the Browns for 5yr 40 mil and I think he is better 2 way player than Cliff. I know he wanted 5yrs at 60 we shall see what he actually gets.

I woulda payed kruger 8 mil in a heartbeat. Avril shouldn't get more than him....but he will.

At least he goes to a better team. Many have Avril as the top DE in free agency. He's going to get paid..

Do we really lose a player if when the player signs with another team we cheer?

ESPN on Cherilus:

He looks to be a major upgrade over Winston Justice, who served as a stopgap at the position last season and should do a great deal to help reduce hits on Andrew Luck and create room for backs like Vick Ballard.

Here’s Scouts Inc. on Cherilus.
"Cherilus has been a mainstay along the Lions' offensive line since entering the league in 2008. He has great length with good strength and adequate athleticism for the position. He is tough to contend with if he engages with defenders early in the play, locking on and staying connected. He can be inconsistent at playing with proper pad level, which exposes his lack of recovery agility in pass protection. Cherilus has progressed each season and brings experience to the offensive line."

It will be interesting to see what Avril's contract is. He turned down last year a 3yr 30 mil with rough 20 mil guar from the Lions because he wanted more. I bet he got less.

He either got a huge offer which I don't see or he thought he better sign because he might not get any other offers which is more likely. I'm guessing, 4 years 30m with 14g.

At least he went to a good team, I was hoping he'd go to Oakland or something.

Actually early reports are 5/60+ with 25+ guaranteed
