Jason Babin was just released by the Eagles. Jason Babin played at WMU, is from Kalamazoo and had 18 sacks last year in system similar to the one the Lions use. He is also 32. I'd like to have him. Can't be any worse than KVB. probably an upgrade.

He was in college too....that s never stopped teams from drafting/signing him before. Besides....mayhew loves having douchebags on the team.

Detroit will be desperate for a good DE this offseason. KVB and Lo Jack suck and will be a cap casualty for sure and Lo Jack is a free agent. Avril is solid in pass rush but streaky and bad in run defense. If the price isn't right, which it probably won't be Avril is gone. That leaves Willie Young the restricted free agent. Babin will have a price tag of 4 million next year if claimed off waivers. If he's an Avril clone, you pick up Babin and let Avril walk and draft a DE.

If he clears waivers Lions could get him cheaper but at 4-7 he isn't coming here. Picking him off waivers is the only chance if they want him for next year only.

He is, I've met him. I bounce on occasion in a bar in Saginaw. When we refused to serve him after 2 he broke a few glasses and had to be asked to leave. Thankfully, I still have all my teeth.

Really he had one big year in Tenn and after that he has been OK. But the comparison to Avril is a good one he looks great when he gets a sack but when he doesnt he is a waste.

He had 18 sacks last year for Philly......i'd say that was a big year.
