Love when we out-tough Michigan like we did both times this year!

Hell of a win, hell of a year thus far given all the injuries. Season will feel very incomplete though if they don’t make the second weekend, so while I’m very happy I’m also uneasy given the past few March flameouts. Winston was incredible that second half, Tillman and Goins terrific as well.

Gratifying with loss of Ward and Langford You figure your season is over and flip the bird. If we get Ward back in playable condition the injury "could" make this a stronger team. With 2 losses to Indiana it makes you wonder how this happens. We gave up 2 last year with more "talent" and get 2 back with the loss of NW and JL this year. Bizarro basketball GO GREEN!

Ward wanted to play and Izzo made the call to sit him just to make sure he wouldn’t have a setback. Seems like he’ll be ready for some minutes in the conference tourney

Probably the better move (obviously now). I just assumed hes done for the year. Id be happy if he can play at the start of the tourney.

This team has been as fun to watch all year as any I can remember. The way they've overcome the injuries all year. Certainly Winston is the straw the stirs the drink but McQuaid and Goins as seniors have willed this team to this point and it was nice to see them go out on top.

Hopefully we can get Ward back and see what happens in the postseason.

Is anyone else seeing that Tillman is a star next year? He?s so skilled and has few weaknesses.

It was 7-8 games ago Dakich made comment that Tillman will go to he NBA. had a half chuckle in disbelief. If the kid keeps improving id have to think its a distinct possibility.

I think he'll play in the NBA. Teams will knock the fact that he's only 6-8, but I think he'll be able to guard NBA 4's. He has potential as a scorer both in the post and as a shooter, and just needs to keep polishing his game in both areas.

Agree, I just didnt think so 8 games ago. Now Im seeing it.

yeah, those iu losses sting a bit more when u realize we would be outright champs if we won just one of those games. oh well, this team has exceeded expectations and has been far more entertaining than frustrating.

im not expecting or predicting a deep run but i feel like this field is more balanced than it has been in a while - looking forward to seeing what we can do.

It looks like Ward will reportedly be back next week. It will be interesting to see what they do with him. Start him and send Tillman back to the bench and try to establish him early, which I think would help the shooters (Winston in particular) to get better looks again. Or ease him in and relegate him to a super sub status while a stronger defensive lineup goes out there to start. Interestingly Tillman is averaging 14.4 and 7.8 as a starter in Ward's absence, which is pretty similar. With the way he and Goins have upped their production since then (along with Kithier proving able to provide reliable relief) suddenly things look good and deep up front.
