While sec and pac 10 are battling for teams like texas and oklahoma, I keep seeing the big ten talking about teams like uconn, pitt, rutgers. Yeah, those teams are really going to help the big ten keep up with the other super conferences. Notre dame wouldn't be a bad choice. But why isn't the big ten trying to go after texas or the sooners. Try to even steal a team from the pac 10 like oregon, or stanford. Stanford plays like a big 10 team anyway. The only big east team id want would Wvu, and I wouldn't exactly want them. You guys know a lot more about the big ten and what teams they'd acccept and that's what worries me, because I keep seeing you guys name average football teams.

I think it's likely we would go after Missouri and ND again. I think the UConn and Pitt stuff are nonsense because they are both essentially begging to join the ACC. I think Rutgers is an unfortunate option because of TV markets. To be honest I don't want Texas and Oklahoma - call me crazy but I wouldn't want to have to play our regular schedule + Texas or Oklahoma each year ESPECIALLY if ND ever gets great again. Nebraska, Texas/OK, PSU, OSU and ND each year? No thank you.

But if we did and ran the table you could stamp National Champs on our asses!

Id rather get the best teams and be considered the best conference. I mean if we get average teams while pac 12 and sec are stacked, we'll pretty much become the new and improved big east.
Maize&Cheese304 said:I can see oregon being good for awhile. Unless they get in trouble with the ncaa.
If they get texas and oklahoma I could see them jumping us as the 2nd best conference
Maize&Cheese304 said:Because the best plays the best. Wvu could have 1 loss this year, but who gives a shit because they're in a weaker conference.
And the big ten isn't as strong as it use to be. I'm not saying the big ten would be made fun of as badly as the big east or acc. But if a big ten team goes 10-2 and a sec or pac team goes 10-2, who do you think will be ranked higher? Or is more respected?
Maize&Cheese304 said:Only because they won the conference. If not for that, our bowl would have been better than theirs. Even though they had the better record.
Maize&Cheese304 said:If texas, florida, and michigan all go undefeated. And texas is a top 5, michigan is #9 and florida is #10 to start the year. With their schedule being tougher florida would jump us and end up the #2 team. And michigan would be left out of the championship game.
