Good article by Simmons (who I like....but understand why some hate) about the Lions and their attitude change.

Recently in the Grantland offices, we developed a nasty conversational habit of discussing everything like stocks. As in, "I'm in on the new security guard, I'm buying 500 shares of him" or "I can't believe how much I enjoy Diet Dr Pepper, I'm selling my Diet Coke shares." It's a stupid, indefensible, annoying and strangely addictive gimmick. Things went too far when the buying/selling routine started affecting my approach to football gambling

This seems to be the sentiment nationally. Everyone's hopping on the bus and there's plenty of room. Berman was going on about Suh and the Lions on Sportscenter this morning. Now let's hope we live up to the new found expectations.

The shit is fuckin weird man. I was getting my oil changed and heard the guy in the next bay talking and I hear "yeah, the Detroit Lions" come out of his mouth. The way I see it, they absolutely HAD to pick a sleeper team the same way they HAD to pick a favorite to win it all this year. Between Stafford coming back, the four game winning streak, and Suh's year, it was the easy route for them to go with us (instead of a team like Buffalo) and that's pretty damn annoying. But, it's still better than getting trashed every week so I'll happily take it.

It's the feel good story, the lowly lions turning the corner and everyone jumping at the opportunity to say I knew they were going be good before everyone else. The worst was last year when they struggled early and people piled on with the same ol lions talk.
