The last time Michigan beat Michigan State in East Lansing was 2007. So you'd think Wolverines might want to go light on the "Little Brother" talk this week ahead of their trip to Spartan Stadium.
Nope.
Here's running back Fitz Toussaint on how the rivalry has become personal to him:
"We labeled them as a little brother," Toussaint said. "And, you know, little brother always wants to prove themselves and try to beat up the big brother one day.
"I think they really take offense to that."
But wait. There's more:
"It's going to be better in their house," Toussaint said. "Once we go over there and take care of business, it will (feel better than last season's win)."
[Readies popcorn for Saturday.]

that's pretty mild as far as BB material goes, but whatever.

at least it's more on point than the other mundane quotes the spartoons were using earlier

I?ll give him some credit, he has balls, at least more balls than brains as evidenced by the fact that he had to struggle to get a 2.0 GPA to qualify for the Harvard of the Midwest. He?s having an up and down senior year but he has the stones to pop off like this before facing a run defense averaging 58 yards against this year, hasn?t had a team go over 100 yards. Hart?s comments came after the game was over

I'm kind of impressed that you know his academic history; impressed, but a little bit weirded out. You don't by any chance remember which Spartan it was that said the little brother thing Hart was referring to, do you? Seems like not too many people remember that. Fitz doesn't seem to be aware. For some reason, I think it was a tight end.

And right on time, the Napolean Complex arrives this week.

No doubt posted on a Sparty message board somewhere else and copy/pasted here ...the "info" about Fitz' GPA no doubtedly taken from some other sparty fan posting on that same other board and presumed to be true.

If these spartans need Fitz to rile them up by re-hashing old smack talk, that's pathetic. As pathetic as starting a thread entitled "bulletin board material."

actually, i'd like to send him a thank you card for this. Again, I give him credit for having the balls to talk this kind of smack before the game.

ego writing checks that his body can't cash

Over under on rush yards for Fitz on Saturday? i'd say 30

and by Bulletin Board, I think I misunderstood you in the OP.

I took you to mean the "bulletin board" in the players' lockerroom and not your Bulletin Board, hanging in your bedroom, reminding you to get up every day and do what you have to do because you couldn't get into MICHIGAN.

it's such a tough life I lead, if only I went to Michigan all of my dreams would have come true.

Cork sheet. The real bulletin board material. Everyone freak out.

maybe he's counting on his big brothers to back up his talk. Or maybe someone else on the team jokingly told him he was a good running back and he didn't get it...

I think it's just the mentality, assume you're so much better than everyone else with nothing to back it up. say they're your little brothers when you've only beaten them once in your career, talk about how it will be so great to win there when you haven't done it since 2007, talk about how it's the big 2 and little 8 (10 now) when one of the big two hasn't won a title since 2004.

it's consistent at least

lol Sbee you crack me up. You act like Sparty fans dont act the same way. Let me assure you if you could see my facebook feed it is filled with Sparty fans posting everything they can find as to why they are better than U of M. And its been like that for 2 weeks. I am sick of Sparty fans telling me U of M is the arrogant fan base when in reality it comes from both sides. In terms of media exposure it will always be the Big 2 and soon the little 12 in football Sparty has not won shit in decades. Just like Sparty gets more credit is basketball it happens for U of M in football. Your program will never be viewewd the same nationally it wont happen. Dantonio will always be fighting the uphill battle that Saban knew he couldnt win which is one of the reasons he left.

Everyone get out the popcorn and let's sit around and listen to Sbee and Spartanmack tell us about MSU's seven Big 10 Championships they won in their 59 years of Big 10 participation.

I guess you just don't get it, I realize that our record isn't the best and i'm not popping off about how we're some elite program. we have a long way to go to get there, might happen, might not, it's a tough hill to climb.

how about spartanmack and I sit back and watch you crow about how elite your program is, with no outright national championships in 60 years.

Maybe. Do you think you have what it takes? (By "it", I mean the required level of arrogance.)

I am doing this where?

I would have learned it from my peers and gotten the vernacular down over my 4 years there.
