Comp picks

Michael Rothstein
ESPN Staff Writer

The Lions added two compensatory picks Friday, the No. 95 overall pick (third round) and the No. 210 overall pick (sixth round). Detroit had received 21 comp picks since 1994.

Money is big on those comp picks and Fairley only signed for 5m last year I believe. Hard to get a 5th on that.

Last year KC and Houston got a 5th out of their lost 4.5 million guys, so I was hopeful it was the same. Must have something to do with % of salary cap perhaps?

Not sure about everything but % of plays also plays a role. Not sure what else.

Found it here..

"The placement of the picks is determined by a proprietary formula based on the player's salary, playing time, and postseason honors with his new team, with salary being the primary factor"

With the strength in the draft I really hope we follow the Patriot way and trade down. There is a lot of talent to be had in the second and third rounds
