Concern about Tennessee?

Kentucky vs Louisville, I just realized the implications of that game. It is going to be madness. Kentucky goes nuts when those two play.

3, but they only got 3 in the tourney so they haven't lost yet.

That's why comparing conference records is stupid. The top 3 big ten teams made the sweet 16 as well, it just happened that their middle was weak and the bottom was awful. There were a lot of breather games in the sec where even nw and psu could beat good teams

Okay, Tenn it is. Michigan needs to run them off the court worse than they did Texas. Run run run. They hit their shots and Michigan moves on to the elite 8 easy. If they are not hitting their shots, then look out.

We play Friday not sure what time yet. Tennessee worries me but so did Texas and Wofford lol. I have said from the beginning that we can beat anyone and we can lose to anyone. I still love what this team has done so far because I never suspected we could be this good and accomplish this much. I hope we can beat Tennessee and move to the elite 8.

ESPN has it listed at 7:15 CBS. Another back to back with us. Looks like we must be at 9:30ish. Love how this set up for those of us that wanna watch both MSU and UM.

Go Blue! I think the only way UM loses this game is if they shoot poorly. Play their game and they win.

People on Tenn. message boards were screaming for this coach to be fired during the year, that he's boring, doesn't inspire, etc... Now, he's in line for a raise. Like I said in a prior post, that's the reactionary nature of sports. Look at what beating an absolute dumpster fire in Iowa, an overrated Umass, and a 14 seed does for you.

Good pt. while I don't think tenn. are pushovers, I'm also not as nervous as I would be if we were facing duke. Or last year against VCU, or Kansas.

I would not like Michigan's chances against Duke. They have Michigan's number.

Tennessee, I am not nervous about. I would be thoroughly disappointed if they lost to them. Seem to be a very similar style to Texas, strong post play, poor outside shooting. Guards are more athletic defensively, but do not pose a threat with their shooting.

Again I always worry
Texas missed a kit if their first half buckets and we did a record number if 3 pts

Just have to keep shooting like that
Nit sure our bigs will match up weabd as I said bigs under the basket need to go up
Not bounce the ball first.

Well of course we all worry, it's a 1 and done scenario.

But, if it was Duke, my level of worry would be a 10, because it's an average SEC team (that's what they are, beating a few weak teams does not change my mind), I'm at a 3.

Tennessee looked horrible in that first half against Iowa, but turned it around in the second half. I didn't watch their next 2 games, but they won them pretty convincingly. Stokes and Maymon are a load but they are mostly wide (I think both around 6-7). So they aren't as tall as Texas.

Like any team at this point a bad shooting night could send UM home, but they have fewer bad shooting nights than most.

Edit: Ok I see both are listed at 6-8. I've seen them listed as 6-7 in the past, so who knows.

I like the way Beilein figures out opponents. I read about the way he broke VCU's press last year, and was impressed by the simplicity and logic of it: just bring the ball up court more slowly. Against that, Shaka Smart doesn't look quite as brilliant...

Against Texas, we had a couple bad possessions to start, then cranked up the tempo out of nowhere and went on a 10-0 run or something like that.

I don't think there are too many coaches that can out-think JB. As he gets better and better players at Michigan, there will be few that can out-talent him as well.

sure we could go cold - though by this I mean like 3 or 4 different shooters would have to go cold and both Horford and Morgan get in foul trouble - and lose a game we shouldn't, but JB has seemingly been able to put together a gameplan that keeps us from even getting to that point.

good teams can beat the press, that stuff may work in the A10 but not against good big ten teams. Michigan also has forwards that can handle the ball, guys like GR3 and Levert, the downside is you might get bullied by bigger teams but it's good for breaking the press.

I do agree that Beilein is a very good X's and O's guy, your offense is a thing of beauty. you have a lot of guys on the floor that can knock down shots and a good system to get them open looks. of course there is a downside with every style of play, more shooters means less rebounding, etc, but the system works and you can play with anyone.
