Their sack numbers dont show it but Abraham and Edwards have a ton of qb pressures and hits. Its going to be a long day if Backus doesnt have a good game.

Abraham is nicked up and Edwards has been a bust

John Abraham, Ray Edwards and Kroy Biermann vs Lions OTs

John Abraham, Ray Edwards and Kroy Biermann only have a combined five sacks on the season but have produced plenty of pressure for the Falcons. Abraham has been dealing with a hip injury and hasn't been as destructive as he can be. In 226 snaps, he has two sacks, nine quarterback pressures and four quarterback hits. Edwards has produced two sacks in 308 snaps, while pressuring the quarterback 14 times but has only one quarterback hit.

Biermann who hasn't sacked a quarterback since Week 1, has pressured the quarterback nine times and has six quarterback hits through six weeks. While the trio of defensive ends haven't produced many sacks, they obviously have hit and pressured their fair share of opposing quarterbacks this season. It will be interesting to see how Lions left tackle Jeff Backus and right tackle Corey Hilliard stack up.

This is the first time this season where I'm picking us to lose. I obviously hope I'm dead wrong, but I think the Atlanta run game is gonna give us fits, and our lack of a run game is gonna hurt a lot. I think it will be close, but think Atlanta wins.

Losing Leshoure was waay too fucking costly in too many ways, dammit!!

Their lack of a run game and Matt being flatt contributed to losing a close game vs SF, that instead having Mikel playing in might have made up for the losing difference. Hope that is NOT the case again in this afternoon's game vs Falcons.

I understand why the Lions traded and lost picks to move into the 2nd round to snatch him, BUT I sure wish that he would have been only a junior now, or there hadn't been shortened camps/practices due to the fucking lockout.

What will the Lions do during their next year's draft? They likely won't know by then, or as yet, IF he will ever be able to perform effectively, much less next season, so Mikel may, if not more than likely WILL affect TWO Lions' drafts, not just one, even if the Lions were to trade for a RB instead of drafting another one.

Good 'ol Lucy Lions...building up our high hopes and dreams of their decades-long playoffs-losing championship drought-suffering "Charlie Brown" fans.. then yanking the winning football away at the last second yet again and twice in a row...we should know better but will we never learn??...haha!!
