some interesting matchups for this game

denver ranks 21st in total defense (thats yards)

but are 29th in points against allowing 25.8 points a game

rush defense they are average tied for 18th in the league with a respectable 3.8 yards a carry against them

pass defense they are atrocious perhaps not in yards..they rank 19th which is average. but they have allowed 11 td passes to only 3 int's this year...and opposing teams have a quarterback rating of 104.2 against them..only indianapolis has allowed a higher total QB rating against them

beware of rookie von miller...he already has 6 sacks on the year..

they are also allowing 41% of their third downs against them to be converted.

on offense denver is ranked 25th in yards..and 21st in ppg with 20.5

they are ranked 26th in passing yards per game..with a 79.3 quarterback rating for their team...with 11td passes to 7 interceptions..and only complete 56% of their passes

they are also ranked 16th in the league in rush offense..averaging 4.3 yards a carry.

all i can say is..the lions better win this game..or else we could be in some trouble..

If there's blowing snow and sleet, you can pretty much bag the numbers imo. Anything can happen

Playing in Denver, sleet or no sleet advantage to the home team. It won't be easy.

Ya I saw the weather totally moved out. Plays to our advantage, especially if the ground is soft and hard to run on after being covered by all that snow.

Not gonna get crazy, but I think we'll win tomorrow. I'll stick to my first prediction.

PS, Tebow is a fag.

Should be a tough game for tebow to get comfortable if the dline does its job. As long as their run game doesnt go crazy on us and our offense can improve on 3rd down then we should be fine. Rush yards given up and our 3rd down conversion % on offense has been horrible as of late.

AFC match ups on NFL network Sharp pointed out that Stafford has been leaving the pocket way to early in the last couple of games. that is what i'll be watching for tomorrow.

Does anyone remember the shoulder land he took against Chicago at which he briefly grabbed his shoulder then pulled away (non throwing shoulder thankfully) Has he been skittish back there every since? Not afraid to get hit per say but rather going out of his way to avoid getting himself into position to possibly hurt shoulders again? Getting out of the pocket at the slightest hint of pressure, hurrying throws etc.. just sometime i've wondered about is all, granted the O line isn't helpful for sure..We'll see how he is tomorrow.

I'm going to try my best to not read and post here tomorrow during the game, I get to upset.

my guess would be early pressure in games..because it happened in both the san fran and atlanta games...they started off getting to him quickly..and made him skittish for the rest of the game...he is still young and has stuff to learn also...so lets hope we see improvement..

in other words..i don't think its a coincedence that stafford has been marginally better in the games where he didn't take any sacks..he has to learn how to deal with the pressure better..until we get him a better o-line that is

What game did you watch?

The San Fran game on the 1st play of the game they ran a swing pass to Jahvid Best for -2 yards, then on 2nd down they ran it to Best for 1 yard, and on the 3rd Play of the game they ran a Shotgun set, San Fran brought 3 pass rushers - nobody got close - and Stafford bailed on the pocket and threw a ball 10 yards over Burrleson's head down the left sideline.

There was no early pressure. He just got scared

That's been my whole point for the last 2 weeks. If Stafford was bailing and drifting away and side armed chucked because of pressure - I'd be here ripping the Oline like every other half ass out there.

That's the problem though - there's been no early pressure. Most of the pressure the last 2 weeks, has been a result of Stafford drifting backwards, or bailing out of the pocket when he doesn't need to.

It's been almost all mental...

He drifts and bails because his interior is in his lap....ZERO threat of any kind of inside run DT's are just straight up pounding the middle of this line with no worry of a RB running by them.

Didn't happen early in the 9'ers game though, Slick. It just flat didn't.

He got pressure up the middle as the game progressed - and on that Safety as you pointed out in the other thread. But on that first drive, he had nobody near him. If you still have it DVR'ed, go watch the first drive. It's like "wtf are you looking at Matt? Nobody is near you..."

whatever you say dude....his interior gets completley raped all day every Sunday...they have ZERO threat of any kind of run between the Guards....DTs just pin their ears and rush him.

the last 2 games he hasn't been setting his feet , and his accuaracy has been abysmal ....he is also seen shell coverage the last 2 weeks which is new....the Lions have to adjust..period.

5 - 0 got them noticed and like I said SF and ATL had the perfect defense game planned for them.

it's time for the Lions to show something new.

Ya no question. But somebody posted his nervousness has been from early pressure, and its simply not been the case.

And I don't buy that his interior gets blown up consistently. Look at your own video link - on the Pettigrew TD he throws a piss missle to fit it in there, and he stepped up when he threw it.

He's had time to throw - almost every NFL analyst out there agrees that most of his pressure is perceived, and not actual.

Game Plans be San Fran and Atlanta I 10,000% agree played a roll. Also agree Linehan needs to adjust
