Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Golden Tate said he's in better shape this year coming in. In the past he was "a little heavy" after eating Chipotle and other things. Now, his wife Elise makes home-cooked meals all the time.

Golden Tate said drops were an issue last year -- something that's important because "that's my job." It's an area all Lions receivers had issues with last year.

Matthew Stafford said his finger is doing fine and just needed rest. No surgery and has been throwing for the past month or so.

Matthew Stafford said "I would love to" be here long-term. Said he's not been involved in contract discussions but his people (Tom Condon) have been talking to the Lions. Has no timeline for a new deal.

Bob Quinn ranked the 22nd best GM in NFL.
Despite extremely high approval ratings, Bob Quinn?s scope of impression is still local.
Rotoworld?s Patrick Daugherty ranked all current general managers in the NFL and slotted Detroit Lions GM, Bob Quinn, at 22nd overall.
Daugherty dings Quinn for having a severely flawed roster at the moment,
but credits him for being aggressive in free agency?he also falsely claims Quinn hasn?t traded a draft pick in two years, when he?s only been around for one.
