Cant help but assume the Suh signing (and overall 'reckless spending') had something to do with this. Even though I think that contract was a bit outrageous, I believe that the Dolphins owner Ross kind of forced Hickeys hand when it came to signing Suh. Reminds me of Illitch, and how he would tell Dombrowksi to sign a player (err Fielder) regardless of cost.

Unfortunately, there is a salary cap in football...
 
Lots of competition out there for good GM and Coaching candidates. So much turnover in the league.

I agree with you on the Suh signing. But there were a lot of bad moves in Miami too that weren't forced by the owner.
 
Miami.......weren't they supposed to do something this year?
