IMO Donaldson did nothing wrong and Machado completely overreacted, then in today's game Machado throws his bat on a swing and miss down to third

That was the most intentional looking 'accidental' bat throw I've ever seen in my life. Perhaps Machado should have looked at the video before he went with that story.

Obviously Machado has some maturing to complete. That was a solid baseball tag. Not Donaldson's fault that he was already off balance and moving away from him.

5 games isnt enough. Pitchers get 6 for hitting someone, and throwing a bat is FAR more dangerous. He should have gotten AT LEAST 10 games.

He should have been given 20-25 games. You can't allow guys to throw their bat for any reason. And I'd give him 20-25 games because he had zero reason to react like that at all. You think you were tagged too hard (which you weren't) so when you come to the plate you throw your bat at the guy who tagged you too hard???

He obviously didn't aim the bat at Donaldson. He needs some counseling to sort through his anger management issue. We were (are?) 23 years old at some point. I know I had more than a few displays of aggression at that age. You can see the look on his face and tell he is someplace else.

I would have split the difference and gone 8 games to send the message that bat throwing gets extra.
