Ed Warinner now OL coach

Pretty much every Buckeye I've seen comment says this is a big win. Trolls say he was bad, but he was only bad as OC. Great as OL coach.

Maybe he can improve the o-line for the first time in a decade

couple interesting tidbits from the Freep writeup of the situation:

- Warriner's kid is a freshman LB at MSU
- Warriner roomed with Dantonio when they were on the coaching staff @ Akron

- from his bio @ Minnesota: Warriner has coached in a lot of places going back to the early 80's: Akron, MSU (under Perles), Army, Air Force, Kansas, Illinois, back to Kansas, ND (under Brian Kelly), Ohio State ('12-'16), and Minnesota.

looks like old abcd ended up @ MaizenBrew (see comments).

anyways, all this is great. hopefully Warriner turns out to be a loyal staff member. If so, his tenure and connections should provide some good insight into coaching tendencies and mentalities (esp. at MSU and OSU).

I can now get my hopes up for 2018. Hooray?

I have an old ABCD/ESPN board related confession to make. I am not one to run multiple accounts and mislead people with regard to alternate identity, but I can't honestly say that I've never done any of that sort of thing. I did once for about 2 days and ABCD was the target.

I didn't get what he was up to and thought it was just a weird stylistic choice, so I created an account that I think had some hint that it was a robot in the name and when he'd get going on a thread where he was just replying to himself over and over again, I'd feed his post into a chatbot program and then post whatever the bot replied. It was all AI generated. I thought there was humor there, but it never got any attention, even from ABCD.

I haven't done anything like that since.

huh.

well, AI has come a long way since then. I saw an article a year or so ago about a researcher who created these chatbot twitter accounts that can get people to argue with them for days on end, never realizing they're arguing with a bot

I think machines still have a long way to go to match human trolling though.
