We have the greatest fans in the world, and last year you proved that you have an impact like no other. Sunday starts a new season, and we know that you are as excited as we are.

LIONS FANS*led the NFL in 2011 by helping force*22 FALSE STARTS*by visiting opponents, including a single-game high of*NINE*against Chicago.

HEAD COACH JIM SCHWARTZ:
"It's one thing to be loud, it's another thing to affect the game and I think that was obvious to anybody that was in the stadium. I don't know about people that watched it on TV, but if you were there, you felt it and you know, we need a lot more days like that."

Opponents took notice. After you forced three false starts on the Bears very first possession on Monday Night Football, teams definitely took notice.

They were asked about it by the media and they changed their practice routine to attempt to prepare. But they did not know what kind of force you really were.

Following the Monday Night Football win, here's what happened on each of the opponent's first drives at Ford Field the rest of the year:

San Francisco:*Sack-Fumble and recovery on 1st play
Atlanta:*1 false start, Interception
Carolina:*Interception
Green Bay:*Punt
Minnesota:*Sack-fumble, recovered for touchdown on first play
San Diego:*Punt

Whether they were jumping the gun or they were concerned about the noise and stayed in their stance too long, you helped us take advantage from the start. Think of yourselves as our*FIFTH DEFENSIVE LINEMAN, alongside Vanden Bosch, Avril, Suh and Williams, disrupting the line and attacking the quarterback.

No fans in the entire NFL help their defense start as fast as you do. With you strongly behind us, we want to start even faster this year.

ROCK ON!!

Lions fans were freaking insane during that MNF game. I've never heard a stadium that loud in my entire life.

I can't wait for tomorrows game. Bradford's ears will be bleeding!

I went to the SF game, it was really loud. I went to Stafford's first game in NO and that's the loudest I have ever heard a stadium.

I was at that NO game in 09'....It didnt compare to the Monday night game last year against Chicago...with that said I believe the Silverdome had some of the loudest games Ive ever heard
