I know they don't matter one bit but does anyone else find it funny the Bears are continually ranked 1 spot ahead of us given that we beat them head to head? Just thought I'd share with Lions fans because nobody else cares where I live.

I HATE THE FUCKING BEARS. We beat them, have the same record as them, and still don't rank any higher than them? Whatever. I think they're going more off of both teams' track records, and the bears is better....... but fuck them still.

I will be officially outraged if we beat them for the second time this season, have the same record as them, and still get put a place below them.

Power rankings don't mean shit though. Go to nfl.com and check the standings and you'll see that they got it right.

Let's see here

Detroit beat Chicago

Both beat the Vikings

Detroit lost to the Cardinals and Packers (combined records 6-5)
Chicago lost to the Lions and Saints (combined records 9-3)

Chicago has beaten Cincinnati, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and NY Giants (combined records 6-16)
Detroit has beaten Minnesota, Chicago, Cleveland, and Washington (combined records 9-13)

Chicago has only played 2 road games (1-1)
Detroit has already played 4 road games (2-2)

Detroit's Strength of Schedule: .455
Chicago's Strength of Schedule: .409

Detroit's Strength of Victory: .409
Chicago's Strength of Victory: .273

Oh, and Detroit beat Chicago, in fact they didn't just beat them, the game was over by halftime.

I'm done, ESPN rankings are bullshit

It's a piss off but at the end of the day who really cares. ESPN is the worst for stats, ranks, any hard fact journalism in general.

Deion Sanders, Marshall Faulk and Michael Irvin were asked by a host (Chris Rose maybe) on NFL network if Detroit was as good or better than either GB or Chi in one of those 30-second discussion points -- Deion started it with no, and said no further words were necessary. Marshall and Michael agreed, but said the gap is closer. Not one of them brought up that Det beat Chi in their first meeting.

well that could have more to do with the fact we just got spanked by GB and less to do with us beating CHI....people have short memorys in the NFL. Esp ex players that will be braindead in a few years.
