Fairley on the block?

Just a guess pretty much but I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Wouldn't surprise me. He was likely gone the minute they didn't pick up his contract for next year.

Three scenarios - 1. he plays his way into a much bigger contract than he would get here 2. He plays poorly or is oft hurt or injured and gets cut loose 3. Small, small chance he plays decent his usual flash and disappear and he gets brought back on a mid level Pettigrew type contract.

In any of these cases a trade is the best option.

Does that open up Aaron Donald at 10 if it happens? Interesting to see what Dallas would pony up for him. I like Fairley when he's on, but like Mitch I wouldn't have a problem if he's gone...

This is the time to trade him..option one and we can't afford him with Suh. Option two we get bupkis and option three he leads the league in encroachment penalties.

For what? Could we get a 2nd u think? Leaves a pretty big hole up the middle. Does that effect talks with suh....kinda seemed they like playing side by side. Dunno about this...

Why only a 2? He was top 15 pick, is still young and had his best year. I could see a high one or a 2 and a 3/4.

Not the way it works my friend lol. Last year of his contract. Its a 1 year rental unless we extend him first. 2nd would be asking a lot.

Yeah unfortunately I don't think we will get much in a trade. Add to what Hughes said the fact that it is a good deep DT draft. However if we are talking Cowboys anything could happen cough *Roy Williams* cough. I would love Donald I think he has top 10 talent - elrod you'd know more than me though.

You cant point to something stupid that jerry did nearly 10 years ago as the norm lol. Pretty sure roy wasnt on his final year....cant remember.

Don't know if last year either but I don't see him as the sharpest tool in the shed..

not sure why you would put fairley on the block and then pick a DT. why not fill the hole first then try to deal him later in the draft when you know if there is a guy on the board you actually want. Unless they are trying to run him out of town and/or completely demotivate him and chalk him up as yet another mayhew draft failure.

Maybe you don't..but I'd go with a late round run stuffer and use whatever picks you got on the rest of the D. Not like you need two good DT to win..

Heres the problem with that thinking. Our dline sucked ass last year. So if you take that suck ass dline and lose all of your depth in young/idonije, then trade away one of your only productive guys in fairley....you are now left with less than a suck ass dline. What is less than suck ass? I couldn't even tell you...but its not good. You think our secondary sucked last year? Theyd look even worse without fairley and an auto double on suh.

Personally, i think if this happens it only means one thing. They are trying to stockpile picks so they can package a trade up for Watkins and still have enough picks to cover some holes/depth.

LOL some Erik Lambert guy on some site no one has ever heard of says Fairley would be a good fit in Dallas and has no basis on to why we would trade Fairley other than Mayhew saying they weren't picking up the option. This article is pure speculation and a Cowboys pipe dream. No way we trade him, unless the offer is ridiculously good.

Come on man! You don't think Latinopost.com is a hot bed for Lions insider info!?

:lmao:

It sucked partly because of the DE on one side and partly because of the coaches. It didn't suck because of the DT. I'd take a good DE over a good DT any day.
