Spartans have already lost 3 starters or key rotational guys in the defensive backfield for multiple months if not the season in the first two weeks.

Tatum, Majeed and Rucker all done for at least a month if not the year. I don't think Rucker was a starter but losing him hurts our depth in the backfield. Alante Brown is likely out until November and Kristian Phillips is done for the year. Woods and Glover are both questionable but not expected to miss too much time.

This seems to happen every year where we get hit with a bunch of long term injuries to starters/key backups early in the season. Last year it was mostly and most of the o-line. Does this happen to every team or are we snake bit? Is it a strength and conditioning issue? Seems odd to me.

Darquez Dennard's buddy Dequantes Devontay Lemar, also known as Rich Homie Quan passed away last Thursday at home. Quan was the creator of the Spartans' celebration song "Type of Way". Dequantes' fell asleep on his couch early morning September 5th and never woke up. No cause of death has been announced, there is an autopsy pending. Conflicting reports have conflicting birth years, Lemar died a month short of his 34th or 35th birthday.
