Has us taking Reilly Rieff, saying we will pass on Kirkpatrick. This guy usually has good sources.

How does Rieff fall all the way to us?

I'd be very happy if Rieff fell all the way to us. Just a month ago they were projecting him in the top 10

I doubt anyone thought Fairley would get to 13 so you just never know. Maybe someone will fall..

to many teams need OLINE between where Zona picks and the Lions.

He could...but it's a big if.

Fairley fell because of character concerns...he started dropping on team boards after the combines...He got labled as lazy.

Short arms and RT projections hurt him. But you are right there is A LOT of teams that need oline even if he passes Zona. If all three Glenn, DeCastro, and Reiff pass Zona we are in range.

no thanks...he'll never play LT in the NFL , why the Lions would even consider him would baffle me...kie I said before they have their RT for 2013 already on the roster...Jeff Backus

Just my opinion though...Im not a fan of the kid,

If it happens, big IF. I'll take best OL available anyday. The Lions again get a top 10 pick that falls prior to draft day and take BPA. The guys floor is a 10 year RT, ceiling 10 year LT who is 6'6 with great technique and arms longer than our current LT.

Also just IMO. I am a fan though and of taking OL in general.

i dont see MM picking a career RT at 23 whether it be Reiff, or Glenn....but for arguments sake the only way Reiff would fall that far is if teams feel Glenn projects better at RT than Reiff. I dont think that would be the case for most teams' boards but it only needs to happen on a couple....CIN mainly. MM likes to take difference makers in round 1....i think itll be a DE or CB. Hopefully he trades up and grabs a guy he loves....im down with that his later round picks have amounted to nothing other than Willie Young.

If Gilmore gets down to say the Eagles pick i think we make a strong push to trade up.

baffles me how the OLINE fell....oh well , not a fan of Reiff but I'll get on board with the pick....should start over Goz.

Then what happens to Goz? Even if Reiff wins the LT battle (unlikely) they would kick Backus out to RT still leaving Goz the odd man out.

Goz gets a one way bus ticket with an open ended destination.

Looking at who is left, Konz, Cordy, Adams, Martin, Sanders, etc... I would say the absolute depth of linemen in this year's draft probably pushed everyone down the boards.

Team are panicking and taking other positions that are thinner in the draft because it looks now like you can get a quality guard in the 4th or 5th round that could be a 10 year starter for you.

Oh, and also because while Cordy is extremely talented, apparently he has a rep for taking plays off.

I personally hadn't heard that before last night when Zietler was taken, but that's what they were saying.
