Tigers need a W this afternoon to avoid losing, or possibly even being swept in this 4 game series vs the woeful royals, who, like many teams, seem to suddenly flourish and/or recover from losing streaks just by playing the Tigers.

Only the Orioles have been the Tigers bitches this season, with nearly half of their 13 wins coming @ their (and the Sox) expense, but their season series is now over and done with. The White Sox have also been swept...but only in one series so far, with many more yet to come.

The royals lineups also seem to be more versatile, with better use of their bench/utility players depending upon who the Tigers are pitching each game vs them...while the Tigers largely remain the same, unless an injury or injuries forces Gardy to rearrange or change them.

So far so good 3 doubles and a single put the Tigers up 3-0 early.

Tigers are still in second @ 13-18, and despite going 3-7 over their past 10 games. Just goes to show how gawdawful that the AL Central has been so far, with even the division-leading Indians now just two losses away from dropping below .500 as well.

In contrast, by Monday, both 4th place teams in the AL East Rays and the West A's could possibly have better, equal, or winning records than the entire Central.

Blaine Hardy in to relieve Zimm in the 6th, gives up a solo to almonte 3-1.

duda leads off with a double in the bottom 9th vs Greene.

Martin botches a flyball to center from gordon...duda scores...3-2...one out RISP...uh-oh...

escobar Ks swinging...2 outs...

Machado can't handle the grounder from goins...first and third...

Pheww...Jay Ks...Tigers win 3-2.

Tigers try really hard to lose the game in the 9th, somehow manage not too

14-18

Went to the movie with the Grand kids to come home to ball rolling side ways into left field. The D tries to give it away! Ball hit him in the sun glasses? Green gets the strikeout and the save. Green had to strikeout the side to get them out!

The problem is they're not managing their staff very well. Liriano is dealing, 1 guy gets on and they make a change to our stupid BP. Today, Zimmerman not the best stuff but 5 shutout innings only 85 pitches and they replace him. It's been like that all year.

If Zimmerman is going to decide not to suck now who knows maybe 81-81 is possible!
