Can someone explain to me how gas prices work? Im in San Diego and cause some dumb ass company blows up their oil rig somehow they think its fair to raise gas prices to $4.5/gallon due to "supply is low". No shit its low...you BLEW UP your shit! So cause they fuck up theyre allowed to price gouge an entire region? Why is that legal? Get the gas from somewhere else? I would think that their'd be a million other options other than "oh well fuck it lets just raise prices $.70 and rape the entire population".

shit should be outlawed or fined heavily. Price per barrel wasnt effected....buy some and ship it West.

maybe more pipelines??? oops, Barry doesnt want them....plug in your solar panel and get to Coca Cola on time...maybe the wind will blow you to work...better yet, talk to Victors, by this time gas should have been $3/gal under his brilliant thesis in April

I predicted precisely what happened to the price of oil and gas for about two months, on a weekly basis but you were too stupid to understand what I provided for you to read. And you think Clarkston, MI is representative of the whole country....

I posted a great resource for tstupid here just the other day but Mitch deleted the post. Google "60 Minutes on CNBC Oil" and you'll find it. It's a 30,000 foot view of the whole bullshit process that has decoupled oil prices and gasoline. And it has very little to do with "drilling more," that's just the tale sold to morons who can't grasp the fact that millions upon millions of people around the world are now consuming resources at a rate closer to, not nearly close yet, American consumption.

Times have changed in the way fossil fuels are consumed and brought to market and traded. tstupid can't seem to get his brain around it and wants to blame me maybe you will get something out of it

hey, your only of $0.90/gal in your thesis.....fuck it could be worse, you could still believe #16 for the Heisman

You're a fool if you think more pipelines will lower the cost of gas. If oil and gas magically appeared for oil companies out of thin air, already refined and and right into the tanks under the pimps the oil companies are still going to charge similar prices.

Why? Because they know we'll pay it anyways, and they'll just laugh all the way to the Caymans.

Having a president dead set against fossil fuel production will lead to high gas prices...wether its leases, moratoriums, pipelines, refinery construction, etc....you will pay

We had an oilman in office before this president....gas prices continued to rise.

you really dont want me to beat you down on the average price of gas under Bush vs. Obama do you??? It would be ugly

Of course it would, Bush's average started at $1.60, Obama didn't have that luxury.

You and your averages, someday you'll realize what bullshit it is.

ya, poor Barry started with $1.80 and has a $1.30/day higher average than Bush.

Seriously, You need to find alternative outlets for your information

And you need to realize the oil companies set gas prices, not the president.

Seriously, it's not going to matter who's president, or how many pipelines or refineries we build or if we drill every square mile we can, the oil companies are turning record profits, because they know whatever gas prices are, we'll pay them, because we have to.

You seem to be under the notion that the president is omnipotent, and can just change gas prices, or create a couple million jobs at will.

oil companies do no such thing...oil is traded.....more oil on the market means less oil price. When this president doesnt care about increased production...well...you get $4/gas.
supply and demand. Bush annouced in 2008 the opening of offshore federal areas and oil dropped like a rock.
Propose wind and solar(like Obama) and you get $4 gas...they're(Oil Co) laughing at him

the good news is the gas companies will report record profits this year, so for those who own stock in them will get a little bit back...until the whole thing implodes and their stock prices crumble, forcing them into bankruptcy and Joe Taxpayer provides them a bailout because can you imagine what would happen to the economy as a whole if Exxon/Shell/etc ceased to exist? after all it is impossible for small companies to pick up where the mega-opolies dropped the ball and created a vacuum into which companies with a better strategy are able to dominate.

Oil is far more powerful than the UAW or GM ever could dream of being.

Dennis Gartman...

exactly vic, too powerful, too important, etc.

as an aside, isn't it interesting how the highest prices are in the most liberal places? why is that? government taxes the fuck out of gas in those places. why? cuz they think they are taxing the rich when in reality they are taxing the poor far more heavily.

You guys kidding your self if you think the POTUS has much control if any about the rise of gas prices..
