Georgia gun law

You can get a house dirt cheap. Now I know why..oh and they're the slowest dumbest people in the world.

Don't you mean 3 months early? Or is it July 1st already? Anyone want to bet the shooter didn't have a concealed carry permit? And I'll bet double or nothing that the gun was not purchased legally.

the point is that it's a bad idea to mix guns and alcohol. Doesn't matter if the law has already gone into effect. I mean, you can't drive while drunk. Why should you be allowed to carry a firearm? Not only that, even if you are responsible with your gun as a drunk, what would stop another drunk from taking your weapon and using it for whatever their drunk mind comes up with?

No. The point is the anti-gun crowd sensationalizes stories like this that have nothing to do with the law in question. What this guy did is illegal now and will be illegal after July 1st and he didn't just start packing heat because he misread the law and jumped the gun on the effective date (pun intended). I'm not in the NRA, I've have never owned a gun and I'm not advocating for guns in bars but the idea that use of an illegal concealed weapon is cited ad reason why law abiding citizens shouldn't be armed is stupid - it's not as if he's only arguing against guns in bars.

So you don't support this law either? Ok, so basically you're just arguing here because you're a loudmouth jackass who likes to argue.

I support the right to bear arms. I don't advocate carrying guns in bars but I'm not for legislating against it. What I am against is ignorant loudmouth jackasses who ignore facts while make stupid arguments - basically I'm against you.

You don't actually know shit about my views on guns, fucktard

I'm not talking about your views on guns and I don't care what your views on guns are because you are an idiot. I'm talking about how you stupidly cited an article that has nothing to do with the law and tried to make it look like it's a fallout from the law as if it were proof that it's a bad law. That was obvious in both of my posts. Dumbass.

Didn't try to do any of that. Hey you and KAWDAP been tradin' notes on the straw man arguments lately? I tell you what sparty you an him are real sly, know that?

You might also be surprised to know I myself am a gun owner... And thank the good lord, cause of folks like you arguin' against law enforcement, prosecutin' authorities, and plain old good common sense, in places like Texas, Florida and Georgia I could blow your brains right outta your head, and wouldn't be no crime whatsoever.

As I read the article it states that people with CCWs in GA can carry weapons into some schools, bars, churches, airport areas, etc., with stipulations that local entrepreneurs can ban weapons in their establishments. Other states have similar laws.

I'm not anti-gun. Champ isn't anti-gun. We're pro-regulation. Big difference. Call us crazy, but we think that guns should be in the hands of safe and responsible people that intend to use them in a safe and responsible way. The NRA has become completely bat shit crazy. I, and many others, would support them if they put aside their conspiracy theories. Instead, they spew fear and hate, especially toward the government.

just because other stats have similar laws doesn't make it a good thing.

here are just a few great stats where the USA is #1 (America, fuck yeah!)

30,000 people killed by firearms each year
283 million guns in civilian hands, 4.5 sold each year, 2 million handguns
30 people shot and murdered each day
10.32 gun deaths per 100,000 people

average annual homicides for other countries

Japan 50, Germany, France, UK 150, Canada 200, USA 10,000

yeah, I can see why we don't need more gun legislation. let's just expand gun laws to allow people to carry everywhere, we don't want to impose on our freedoms to murder each other

80% of those homicides are gang related. Gang members do not apply for CCWs. Get the illegal weapons of the streets and you'd see a drastic decrease in gun-related homicides. People with CCWs are not the gun-carriers murdering people capriciously. In fact, they are less less likely to be arrested for violent crimes than the general public. So expanding these laws is not going to result in more gun violence. Virginia saw a 5% decrease in gun-related crimes at bars and restaurants statewide in the first year where CCW holders were allowed to carry.

11,000 gun deaths in the U.S. are by suicide. The suicide rates in the countries you mentioned are about the same as U.S., except Japan is 2X that of U.S.
