Great AP article

Read this, wow, what an incredible journey for that young man. Dad in jail, mom died in his own arms at 13, in special ed classes and could barely read as a freshman in high school to academic all B1G at MSU and a college graduate.

His relationship with little Lacey is touching, really sounds like she's taken a turn for the worse.

Adriean Payne is going to be a success in life with or without basketball. This story is a must read.

I have personally met the man and have broken bread with him. He is genuine. He is everything and more. Excellent article and as said, is and will be a success no matter what his future holds.

i hope he comes back, plays well and get in the lottery. I honestly don't see how scouts don't like his game more than they do

To have Harris as #7 and Payne as "possibly top 20" is odd.

Age is a factor. Gary Harris is extremely young for a college sophomore, he just turned 19 a few months ago. He was only 17 years old when he first walked onto MSU campus.

Harris is actually younger than former teammamte and current U of M freshman Zak Irvin.

like how Appling is 3 months older than sophomore mitch mcgary

Yeah, McGary will be 22 in June. Harris won't turn 20 until the Fall, they are in the same class.

It's why McGary should turn pro if he's healthy enough to work out for teams before the draft. If he stays another year at U of M, he'll be 23 years old by the time of the 2015 NBA draft.

Good article. Made my wife cry. but she's 9 months pregnant - everything makes her cry.
