Gruden QB Camp - Russel Wilson

that i like russell wilson? :D

Anyone MM picks that late will probably be some injury prone, high-on, delinquent anyways

A 4th round QB is a waste. I want a potential starter, not a 3rd stringer that might be a 2 down the road.

Congrats...you picked the one guy that contributed last year that was drafted later than the 4th round since 2007, lol. Heres the rest :D 1/12.....not bad!

5 158 Baldwin, Johnny(from Den) LB Alabama A&M
6 255 Robinson, Ramzee CB Alabama
5a. 136 Moore, Kenneth(from Mia through KC) WR/PR Wake Forest
5b. 146 Felton, Jerome(from NO) FB Furman
7a. 216 Cohen, Landon DT Ohio
7b. 218 Campbell, Caleb(from NO) LB Army
6b. 192 Brown, Aaron (from Dal) RB Texas Christian
7b. 228 Murtha, Lydon T Nebraska
7c. 235 Follett, Zack LB California
7d. 255 Gronkowski, Dan TE Maryland
7e. 255 Toone, Tim WR Weber St

MM has been pretty decent with the late round picks, murtha was plucked off the practice squad, Gronko was traded for a corner, follet was well follet,Toone was just a favor for a scout. You left out hogue and smokebreath.

You want a late round qb to overtake Stafford?...this.....makes no sense no matter how you want to defend it. We dont need a potential starter...we need a potential quality back up. I see no problem spending a 4th round pick on that type of guy.

Not a 100% here, but I'm thinking he means a starter at a different position, maybe S, G, or C.

ok...ill buy that. Except for the fact that we have gotten absolutely 0 starters from MMs 5-7 picks since 2007. I have 0 expectations from anyone we get in rds 5-7.....because weve never had any success stories....ever lol. Were lucky if our round 1 picks pan out....which has only happened just recently.

We have 2 Qbs on the roster and our back up just finished spending 3 months trying to leave. OUr starter has still been injured in more games than hes played. I see no problem investing a 4th round pick in a quality back up QB at this point.

Our last #3 was a 2nd round pick so a 4th rounder would be an improvement. Thats higher than I would take one but talent is talent. I expect there to be a competition for the #3 spot, a later round QB and maybe a UDFA. The #1 and 2 are set so who ever they bring in needs some sort of competition.

Except you didn't say 5 through 7. You said 4th in your OP, that's too high of a pick for QB who won't start here. Granted a 4th anything isn't guaranteed to be any good but I rather take a chance with a defensive player, even a RB in the 4th than a QB.

Hughes, I think your expectations for late round picks might be a little too high and you may be being unjustly harsh on Mayhew.

Its said that only 50% of second rounders go on to be starters in the NFL so that has to make 5th 6th and 7th's like what, 15%, 10% and 5% respectively? Less?

When you look at the list Felton has started some games and got a deal from another team. Landon Cohen has bounced around a tad bit. Lydon Murtha has started a bunch of games for the Miami Dolphins on the right side and been serviceable. Zack Follette had some play on a bad team and may have developed into good depth before the neck injury. Gronk was turned into Alphonso who's started and been more than decent for us relative to the price we payed. Willie Young has a pretty damn high ceiling and will continue to get more and more reps.

Everything considered I think hes done a rather good job drafting late round picks and guys not sticking is just a product of our roster being light years better than it was under Millen. I say keep throwing them darts. 1 outta 5 hits and you're well above average.

Murtha actually got a 2nd round tender from the Phins this past year....they love him , Lions fucked up when they tried to hide him on the pratice roster.
