Wow, Wow, Wow! What a performance by The Michigan State University. Stifling defense, grinding offense, missing Cook. Wow! On a day in which the elements turned this into even more of a mano a mano type contest than it otherwise might have been, your manos were vastly superior. All credit to Dantonio and staff for having your players ready to go. Really happy for Dantonio.

Take care of business next week, pop the Iowa balloon the week after and I gotta think you guys are in. Once in, anything can happen. I'll be pulling for you.

Helluva Performance, Spartans. Enjoy the ride! Go B1G!

Heh! Have to admit I didn't feel great about the Bucks chances in AA. The team was looking a bit frayed after the number the Spartans did on them last week. Big win today for Urban, the program and everyone in it.

A Spartan loss today would have put OSU in Indy next week but the right team is going. Your just deserts for having won in Columbus. If you pound the daylights out of Iowa, maybe the Bucks slip into the number 4 spot and the B1G has two playing for all the marbles. I don't personally think they deserve to be there, however, and this scenario is exactly why the playoff should forever be limited to four teams and not eight. It would be wrong for MSU to have to play and beat OSU again.

Nevertheless, I'm pulling for an enormous MSU win in Indy. Go Spartans!

Um, Ohio State might make the playoffs.

Not impossible, I guess, but some really weird stuff would have to happen for committee to elevate the Buckeyes two years in a row. Oklahoma winning last night pretty much shuts the door. Sooners have a much poorer loss than Buckeyes but they also have better wins. And after last year, there is no way the Big 12 gets boxed out again.

I don't think OSU gets in. Stanford even with 1 more loss has played a really tough schedule (9 Pac 12 games, plus Northwestern and Notre Dame), and I think if North Carolina beats Clemson they will likely leapfrog OSU. If you don't win your division you have to have done something really noteworthy out of conference.

Agree that one possibility might be if Stanford loses and Florida upsets Alabama. Then the committee could be choosing between Florida and OSU for the last spot. OSU is the better team and Florida would have some really questionable performances (tight wins vs Vandy and Fla Atlantic, blown out vs FSU), but also better wins. However Florida's best performances were also back when they had their quarterback. All that said, not much chance they beat Alabama unless their defense plays lights out and some weird things happen with turnovers or in special teams.
