Best wishes to him wherever he goes. He was decent in spots last year but he has been my whipping boy this year mainly because Dantonio still stupidly gave the guy undeserved carries when Collins was leaps and bounds better. I have no ill will towards him obviously, but I think this is a win all around.

Wish he would've moved to wr. Great hands, just no vision or patience as a rb. Good luck to him

you realize, MC taking the other side only strengthens my case.

Where's he going at?

Entering the transfer portal is basically like reopening your recruiting. Any coach can now talk to him. he preserved his redshirt for this year so he has 2 years of eligibility but probably has to sit out and lose one if he goes to another D1 school. I assume he can go to JuCo and still have 2 years eligibility after that.

Could MD sign a waiver so he can play somewhere next season?

Is that up to MD or the NCAA? Or both? The article I read said something along the lines of him getting a waiver wouldn't be unheard of in today's environment.

He's a good football player, just doesn't have a real position. Maybe he should have been moved to defense early, but he's got great hands in the passing game. Might be a decent MAC type player.

Dumb move for him, he's 1 sprained ankle away from starting again.

I think he could play at a high level at the right power 5 team. His running style didn't fit our run game, but if he found a team that ran a two minute type offense the whole game he could be decent. I honestly think he'd be a really good slot wr. His game is perfect for that. Great hands, speed and toughness. Would like to know if it was ever discussed of a move to wr.

obviously we differ in our opinions on this guy - I think he could be a successful TB at MSU if he was utilized properly. He's not fast enough and our line isn't athletic enough to run outside the tackles with any regular success. Between the tackles, at 233 lbs he is a solid, tough runner and he has the hands to be a good outlet out of the backfield. He may be a good slot receiver. Even if he gets a waiver, his best move may be to play JuCo ball where he'd be the featured back and work his way to another power 5 opportunity.

Few things frustrate more with this team than watching TBs get stopped for 2 yard losses waiting for blocks outside that don't materialize 80% of the time we run it. Other than 1 sweep with Collins last week where he ran for about 12 yards, I can't think of any successful designed outside run plays. I put that more on the line and the coaches than either TB. With Collins getting all but a few of the non-QB carries last week, we've hopefully moved past the musical chairs rotation at TB. If he stays healthy and doesn't get yanked for 3 possessions in a row, he can have a good year, especially if he can demonstrate he can catch the ball out of the backfield.
