I think it's unrealistic and unreasonable to expect a head coach like Brady Hoke to publicly throw an assistant under the bus like that.
We'd all like to hear him say he has a plan, this guy is going to be gone, we're going to go 12-0 next season and lead the nation in offense, but that's just not going to happen until the season is over, even if we lose each of our three remaining games.
And what good would it really do anyway? Hoke would look like an excuse maker, he'd lose respect among the coaching fraternity for dumping on his own guy like that, and it could only make it harder to recruit a good OC to Ann Arbor if he's worried Hoke is going to undermine him in public.
So what is it someone once said about situations like this? I think it went like this: "Accept this and move on."
