Home opener question

Anyone going to this/has ever gone to this? I am contemplating going and tailgating/drinking (wanted to go to the game but not paying $100+ for standing room only tickets) but I see the weather is looking pretty questionable so now I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it. I'm just wondering if the party type atmosphere is way less prevalent when the weather sucks.

I used to go to home openers all the time, season tickets. Then two in a row it was cold as shit. I hate being at a ballgame when it's cold like that, makes it no fun. Last opener I was at was the 1st year Comerica Park opened.

Tailgating probably helps. 100 bucks, wow.

Didn't it snow for the first ever game at Comerica?

I also hate cold baseball games, even if it were $60 for a ticket I still probably wouldn't go to the game given the forecast of low 40s and rain/snow.

I went to Opening Day for about 4 years in a row starting in like 2009. I haven't been to one the past few years. Tickets are so hard to get now.

When I did go I had a really good time. Tailgated at Harry's beforehand, and it definitely felt like a very festive event downtown. Even if it was a little chilly you typically just needed a sweatshirt or something. I don't think I ever had to deal with rain so I'm not sure how that would impact things.
